Morgan Stanley Today is the internal content hub that connects our 80,000 employees globally. The Managing Editor curates the look and feel of the home page, ensuring alignment with our editorial pillars and maintaining the site as a vital employee resource.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience in managing a newsroom-style digital publication, with an instinct for storytelling and a deep understanding of how audiences interact with content across all of our platforms. By building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders across our businesses, regions and externally facing channels, they will generate a steady flow of features, infographics, videos, podcasts and other mixed-media content, from inception to publication.

This individual will manage the day-to-day operations of the Morgan Stanley Today home page by generating story ideas; planning, assigning, and editing content; writing original articles, selecting art and images, writing headlines and overseeing editorial calendars and production schedules. They will work closely with the internal communications leads and press officers in each region to ensure that Morgan Stanley Today reflects our global, integrated Firm.

Required Skills

  • 10 years of editing and writing experience for a news outlet, including managing a diverse set of stakeholders. Experience in the financial services sector is a plus.
  • Seasoned interviewer and versatile writer with experience across a range of formats and topics.
  • A keen eye for adapting content and formats for different channels.
  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to manage and mentor developing writers and content creators.
  • Experience with using a CMS to manage real-time content.
  • Experience with SEO and using analytics to drive content-creation and management.
  • Knowledge of AP style and experience developing a style guide for a written or online publication.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $190,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
