The business constantly changes with macroeconomic conditions, unprecedented levels of innovation, interest rate environments, and foreign exchange movements. As a result, all GTB business lines continue to evolve to provide optimum trade finance, liquidity, and payment solutions to clients.

GTB is comprised of four business lines: Global Trade Finance ("GTF"), Corporate Cash Management ("CCM"), Financial Institutions ("FI"), and Export and Agency Finance ("EAF").

Job Summary

TDS has embarked on a multi-year digital transformation and expansion of GTB's product suite to position the transaction bank as a leading North American multi-currency treasury provider, enabling significant business growth across the TDS franchise. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to the build-out of the next-generation of GTB's transaction banking capabilities to (i) extend a highly successful GTB business into the US; and (ii) to future-proof the business with a platform that can evolve at minimal cost as client and industry needs & expectations continue to evolve.

This is a leadership role with responsibility for leading stakeholder engagement related to the product build out in the US and Canada with all areas of risk management, governance, and compliance to ensure GTB's partners are working with the business to deliver a robust product suite with strong risk and compliance at its core. This leader will be the primary contact for GTB's finance, regulatory engagement, legal, audit, 1A, 1B and second line of defense partners for all matters related to the build out & enhancement of products, and will communicate the implications of our business growth and transformation strategy to ensure partners are well engaged throughout. With their deep domain knowledge in US transactional banking coupled with experience in US risk and regulatory environments, they will be able to frame our transformation and growth story for both internal and external (i.e., regulatory) audiences.

This leader will also have accountability for recommendations to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of processes and controls related to GTB's product suite. The incumbent will communicate and provides recommendations on new initiatives, enhanced capabilities/tools, new business opportunities or cost efficiencies, in alignment with overall Global Transaction Banking product strategy and TDS strategic priorities.

  • Advise & support the Head of GTB's business transformation, Head of GTB Business Risk & Transaction Execution and GTB's leadership team, with the goal of delivering sustainable business results by ensuring strong risk management, governance, compliance and regulatory capabilities underpin product development, enabling the implementation of robust product strategies aligned with business objectives and OKRs, KPIs.

  • Key leadership role that partners with internal and external partners to consult on risk, compliance and control related product related issues for resolution, providing escalation and advice to senior leadership on how to address and implement solutions.

  • Represent GTB at risk, governance and oversight committees for matters related to the product transformation, being the primary delegate for GTB's executive team in these committees.

  • Responsible for overseeing financials for GTB's product transformation, partnering with delivery, finance, technology, risk, operations, marketing and other applicable teams.

  • Assist Head of GTB Business Transformation with preparation for strategic documents for senior leadership forums, strategic business reviews and other ad hoc business updates.

  • Champion agile ways of working and facilitate the 'scrum of scrum' leaders and related ceremonies. Enable the agile squads for maximum effectiveness. Spreadhead project governance and coordinate preparation of project reporting with DDI partners.

Accordingly, GTB is seeking a highly skilled leader with broad knowledge of the Transactional Banking space in both the US & Canada. Candidate must be a visionary leader who can drive and deliver transformative change by leading with the voice of the client while being grounded in risk, compliance, and delivery roadmap (across technology and business practices built out).

Job Responsibilities:

The role is responsible for:

  • Recommendations that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of processes, controls, governance, compliance and risk management matters related to GTB's product suite.

  • Ensure all new products and services meet local and international regulatory standards, as applicable, and are managed within a strong control and risk management framework that adheres to and is integrated into GTB's overall risk and governance framework overseen by GTB's Business Risk team.

  • Works with the risk teams and other functional groups (e.g., operations, legal, Tax and Finance) to develop recommendations to business problems related to GTB's products.

  • Prepare project related documentation such as project plan, milestones, process workflows, and quarterbacks the business case submission on behalf of GTB.

  • Create and own financial and non-financial metric (e.g., KPIs) reporting, forecasting tools for GTB's product transformation to ensure financials and metrics related to the transformation program drive the business in meeting strategic goals by:

  • Captured holistically and are understood and consistently reported across all applicable stakeholder groups,

  • Accurately and consistently measured and forecasted on a timely basis and are integrated effectively into GTB's business level financials and applicable scorecards, and,

  • Resolving problems or escalations quickly

  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing and optimizing the product portfolio based on performance metrics.

Job Requirements

  • Proven track record of successfully developing strategy and executing on large, complex transformations in the US for Corporate, Institutional and FI clients

  • Ability to make sound judgment calls relating to strategic decisions under time pressure and manage well in ambiguous situations

  • Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving leadership skills to plan and execute change, leveraging extensive research and data including economic insights, market / industry insights, and client feedback

  • 10+ years in Wholesale Transaction Banking product management

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability drive strategy implementation by effectively working with cross-functional teams and communicating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Experience in agile development methodologies and working with engineering teams to deliver high-quality transaction banking products for Corporate and FI client segments

  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, with the ability to manage and motivate teams and internal partners to deliver high-quality products on time, within budget, and that meet client related and internal KPIs

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business or a related field
