Managing Director, Cyber Risk

Kroll is seeking a Managing Director, and leader, for our Cyber Transformation vertical. The leader will be a strategic partner to the CISO, focusing on identifying, advising, and overseeing the implementation of remediation strategies to address security vulnerabilities and enhance the organization's cyber defense posture. This role combines deep expertise in cybersecurity and cybersecurity technologies coupled with strong leadership skills to drive effective remediation programs and ensure that security measures are resilient against evolving threats.

Responsibilities:

  • Remediation Strategy Development:
    • Collaborate with the CISO to design and implement comprehensive security remediation strategies that address identified vulnerabilities and align with organizational goals.
    • Evaluate existing security measures and recommend enhancements based on emerging threats and industry best practices.
  • Security Assessment and Analysis:
    • Lead and conduct detailed security assessments, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk evaluations to determine a roadmap for remediation.
    • Analyze security incidents and audit findings to identify remediation needs and develop actionable plans.
  • Program Management:
    • Oversee the execution of remediation initiatives, ensuring that they are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
    • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to manage and support remediation projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication:
    • Act as the primary liaison between the information security team and senior management to communicate remediation progress, risks, and recommendations.
    • Prepare and present detailed reports on the status of remediation efforts and their impact on the organization's security posture.
  • Policy and Procedure Development:
    • Assist in the development and refinement of security policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate risks and support remediation activities.
    • Ensure that remediation strategies comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Work closely with Cyber leadership to enable the Cyber strategy for growth.
    • Lead and mentor the cyber transformation team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of security professionals.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies to continuously improve remediation strategies.
    • Implement and monitor metrics to assess the effectiveness of remediation efforts and drive continuous improvement.


  • Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree or relevant equivalent experience required. Master's degree or relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA) would be preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, with significant experience in a consulting or leadership role focused on security remediation. Proven track record of managing complex remediation projects and working with senior executives.
    • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, methodologies, and remediation techniques.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex security issues.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Experience with compliance and regulatory requirements related to information security.
