S ummary

The Manager of V endor Relations support s senior management with executing core Vendor Relations tasks and activities for a designated business unit responsible for activities of a business unit responsible for conducting in-depth research, analysis, background reviews, and investigations concerning contractors, consultants, and suppliers ' business integrity, ethics, and overall performance to facilitate informed responsibility determinations. This position will also provide status updates to senior management, as required.

Responsibilities

Drafts, edits , and otherwise contributes to reports generated for MTA agency executives and senior staff on matters related to delivering the MTA ' s Capital Program.

Ensures that vendor relations properly files document findings and provides the decision-making process is followed to promote the efficient operation of the vendor relations d epartment.

Assists in the review and approval of vendor responsibility checks and the identification of potential Substantial Adverse Information (SAI) .

Completes and r eviews documents in connection to the vendor background check process, including researc h material and findings.

Assist in the management and support of vendor background check process to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies.

Assists in the Vendor Relations process , allocation of assignments, and management and development of innovative IT resources that expedite and create efficiency regarding the method s utilized by the V endor R elations D ivision , including the development of new and revamping of existing systems and databases.

Mentor and train staff.

Education and Experience

Bachelor ' s Degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Finance, Law, Government Contracting or other related .

Minimum of five ( 5 ) years of related experience .

Competencies:

E xperience working in and with public sector procurement management principles, government project administration, and government bid process .

Proven experience working on matters involving public works projects, construction projects , and real estate matters .

Knowledge of contract and v endor r elation terminology, procurement, and terms and conditions .

Familiarity and experience with relevant local, state, and federal laws, including federal and state procurement laws, rules, and regulations .

Strong interpersonal, analytical, problem - solving, organizational, negotiation , and communication skills .

Ability to comprehend, analyze , and interpret complex business documents .

Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Suite and document management software .
