Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Loss Prevention Specialist. Under the supervision of the investigation manager and security leadership, the loss prevention specialist will monitor loss prevention technology equipment and investigate matters relating to lost/missing property at NYULH. Primary tasks will include monitoring, tracking, auditing and evaluating the Property Pass reporting system and RFID tagged assets. In addition, the loss prevention manager will be responsible for developing and implementing loss prevention initiatives, policies and loss reduction strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Monitor, track, and evaluate all RFID tagged assets.
    • Monitor, track and evaluate the Property Pass reporting system
    • Randomly monitor and audit high frequency use of property passes
    • Support Security team through analysis of theft and loss
    • Review and maintain policies relating to removal of property and loss prevention
    • Develop and implement loss reduction strategies in partnership with Security Management
    • Monitor/track outstanding tagged assets, property passes and provide updates to Security Department Leadership
    • Monitors loss prevention technology equipment for operability
    • Become a subject matter expert for the RFID inventory system and provide training for field team members on an ongoing basis.
    • Work with security management on addressing asset protection issues
    • Partner with identified departments to mitigate the potential for inventory shortages
    • Recover assets and/or make safe apprehensions
    • Minimize the loss of assets from all internal and external avenues
    • Supports internal investigations: Takes direction from Security Management to collect evidence regarding internal investigations and acts as an interview witness as needed
    • Assist in investigating the loss of assets
    • May be required to perform other duties as assigned or necessary.
    • Participates in the departments performance improvement activities
    • Maintains patient/employee confidentiality in the management of information
    • Observes NYULH's compliance policies
    • Meets regulatory, licensure and annual health assessment requirements
    • Demonstrates a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealing with patients, families and extended community
    • Demonstrates competence in oral and written communication.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and directly related work experience
  • 5 years experience and knowledge of policies, procedures and laws required
  • Ability to prevent loss through monitoring, surveillance and other loss prevention tactics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years Law enforcement or Security Enterprise

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,931.00 - $98,218.33 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
