Amalgamated Bank Loan Servicing Specialist in New York, New York

Amalgamated Bank seeks a highly motivated professional to manage the end-to-end loan servicing process of Commercial, Industrial, Commercial Real Estate and Small Business loans, while ensuring compliance with Bank’s policies and procedures and Loan Servicing requirements. Verify accuracy of monetary transactions, and perform loan-related maintenance, including but not limited to, checking data integrity of MIS reporting.

Essential job functions:

  • Obtain approval and disburse funds as requested and as per documentation.

  • Maintain detailed records of actions by assisting in handling all loan payoffs

  • Perform all monetary postings and General Ledger reconciliation

  • Review and interpret loan information required to effectively disburse loans

  • Book loans on system in accordance with documents and Booking Approval Executed Form

  • Assist with quality control of system input and work with loan officers to resolve discrepancies as required

  • Review, monitor, and track receipt of documents and collateral

  • Conduct proactive administrative duties on the Lead Loan and interact directly with attorneys, agents and sponsors

  • Build successful partnerships with attorneys, internal and external clients, servicers, and Bank Management at all levels

  • Ability to solve complex analytical issues and clearly communicate resolution of the issues sharing best practices within the team

  • Support lending and operations related projects and initiatives as assigned

  • Review and approve daily proof and wires as required

  • Monitor, track and correct any data deficiencies relative to FHLB collateralized loans.

  • Perform QC on newly booked loans as needed

  • Provide Backup support to unit Manager, and perform various administrative duties as directed by Manager.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:

  • BA degree or equivalent experience.

  • Five (5) to ten (10) years of Commercial Lending experience is required.

  • Knowledge of accounting is required.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access Database.

  • Ability to work with all levels of staff and management as well as outside vendors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Thorough knowledge of pertinent Policies and Procedures.

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $70,000 – $80,000. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
