NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing IT Support Technician II in New York, New York

Position Summary

Provide computer support to the NYU Meyers Community. Ensure that technology incidents and problems are responded to appropriately based on established department standards. Troubleshoot hardware/software and computer system problems received directly or escalated from Support Technician I. Set-up hardware and install software ensuring that each computer is fully operational including network computers, multi-media equipment, printers and various peripherals, as needed. Install new software releases, computer and system upgrades, virus software, etc., as directed. Maintain related records.

Qualifications

Required Education:High School Diploma or equivalent and some relevant technical training.Preferred Education:Relevant certification.Required Experience:2+ years experience providing technical customer support.Preferred Experience:Experience providing technology support in a help desk, lab or department within a university setting.Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Must be able to install, setup and configure PC's and related peripherals.Understanding of computing procedures and standards and desktop and network configurations. Expertise in PC configuration and troubleshooting to be able to handle the majority of standard procedures. independently. Excellent communication skills and ability to train and assist users.Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:Experience with Mac, Windows and Networked environments. Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the hourly rate for this position is USD $36.90. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.NYU aims to be among the greenest urban campuses in the country and carbon neutral by 2040.
