Role description:

Arcadis is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to oversee and coordinate all IT-related aspects of a significant tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead IT initiatives for a transformative tunnel project, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to drive successful outcomes. Join our team and contribute to delivering innovative solutions in infrastructure development. This role requires a strong technical background in engineering or construction, coupled with expertise in project management information systems (PMIS) and IT project management. The ideal candidate will ensure the technical team adheres to plans and schedules while effectively managing the implementation and operation of PMIS.

Role accountabilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the implementation, operation, and optimization of Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) for the tunnel project.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocation strategies for IT implementations, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.
  • Monitor and oversee the execution of IT project plans, ensuring tasks are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality standards.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on project progress, milestones, and issues to project stakeholders, including management and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, engineers, and construction personnel to understand project requirements and integrate IT solutions effectively.
  • Ensure PMIS system functionality meets project needs, including configuration, customization, and user training as required.
  • Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to IT systems and services, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Implement and enforce IT security protocols and best practices to protect project data and systems.
  • Lead and facilitate project meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to IT systems and project management tools.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and opportunities for improvement in IT processes and systems, implementing solutions to mitigate risks and enhance project efficiency.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, preferably in engineering or construction environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven experience with Project Management Information Systems (PMIS) implementation and management.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems integration, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with IT security protocols and best practices.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with PMIS tools such as Primavera P6, eBuilder, Procore, or similar systems.
  • Previous experience in managing IT projects for large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.

We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $200, 000 - $245, 000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
