The Team

As the Global Head of Payroll for the corporation you will lead the payroll function in delivering payroll as well as time and labor services across the globe. BNY Mellon is a global company dedicated to helping its clients manage and service their financial assets throughout the investment lifecycle. Whether providing financial services for institutions, corporations or individual investors, BNY Mellon delivers informed investment and wealth management and investment services in 35 countries.

The Role

As the Global Head of Payroll for the corporation, you will have the opportunity to define and drive payroll, time and labor strategy, operations and delivery of services across all of the countries in which BNY Mellon operates. You will manage multiple corporate and regional teams and be in a position to shape and influence the way in which payroll services are delivered. You will partner with senior leaders in human resources and across BNY Mellon's businesses to optimize operating models and deliver efficient, timely and high-quality service to your customers by overseeing day-to-day activities as well as related projects and initiatives.

Oversees the day-to-day operations of Global payroll as well as Global Payroll Project oversight. Sets strategy for function in collaboration with peers. Accountable for ensuring accurate, timely pay/TLA to all our employees.

Serves as subject matter and industry expert for Global payroll (Payroll, Payroll Accounting and TLA) and works in partnership with finance; outsourced vendors and HR COE functions

Uses broad knowledge of the field and best practice solutions to oversee all payroll-related projects and initiatives. Leads and influences in implementing changes.

Ensured adherence to all global and local regulatory, legal and internal compliance requirements.

Leads fact based, solution orientated mindsets in teams to ensure continual development and maintenance of service level metrics, management information as well as end-to end controls for systems, people and payroll processes.

Build on and maintain a culture of empowerment, inclusiveness, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Recruits, directs, motivates, and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.

What it takes

12+ years of experience in managing Global Payroll

Experience managing inhouse payroll processing in the US

5 years of experience in people-leadership creating and developing high performing, diverse, equitable, and inclusive teams along with successful communication, collaboration and relationship building across the business.

Strong capabilities in strategy creation and execution, data analytics, with a mindset for innovation, impact, growth and wellbeing.

Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $119,000 and $198,602 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.

This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
