Where are these roles located within American Express?

The US Consumer Product Management and Lending organization leads company’s efforts to manage our relationships and expand our suite of consumer lending products, bringing deep expertise to deliver products, services, and strategies that will enhance our competitive position in each of our markets.

Our Consumer Product Management and Lending team is constantly working to offer customers across the globe with a full suite of flexible payment options and exceptional experiences, from cobrand and proprietary lending cards to innovative on –and off-card options.

You could be recruited for a role to serve as a key member in several of our working groups. Some of the teams that we are currently hiring for include:

  • Cobrand Product Management: The Cobrand team delivers meaningful customer experiences to our Card Members by building world class relationships with industry leading partners. With our colleagues across the Blue Box, we drive strong customer engagement to strengthen the value of membership for our partners and Card Members.

  • US Proprietary Lending Products: Our Lending team is responsible for our US proprietary (Amex-branded) credit cards, which typically carry no (or relatively low) annual fees,and provide rewards to customers in the form of Cash Back and Membership Rewards points. We work to design card features and benefits that will uniquely serve our customers’ purchasing, borrowing and lifestyle needs, so they choose to use our cards above others, and our portfolios operate as efficient enterprise investments with optimized economics. We work in close partnership with teams across the blue box (Risk, Marketing, Finance, Technologies, Legal, Servicing, etc.), and are always looking for future team members with a good mix of the following skills: a customer mindset, an understanding of lend economics, analytical insight, marketing, and proposition design and development.

  • Product, Capabilities & Strategic Initiatives: This team delivers the best products and customer experiences, driving the top strategic priorities across the Consumer business. Specifically, the Product Development team leads the cross-functional development of key initiatives like card launches/refreshes, new benefits, and capabilities. The Strategic Engagement team advances critical priorities by deploying versatile talent with expertise in strategy, marketing, and product management. And the Capabilities Planning team centrally leads the planning and prioritization of technology investments, seeking to transform and continually optimize the process to ensure focus on our top business priorities.

  • US Pricing, Lending Treatments & Customer Experience: The team’s mission is to engage our card members in the US by offering best-in-class card product and payment features and off-card borrowing solutions. We win when we have the majority of lend and spend share across our customers’ card and personal loan wallets while meeting our portfolio return expectations. We do so by partnering with teams across the enterprise (Risk, Marketing, Finance, EDDS, Technologies, Legal, Compliance, Servicing, etc.), to innovate and evolve our suite of products, expand our product reach, optimize pricing and offer constructs and enhance the customer experience.

What you will do:

  • Lead the launch of new Marketing/ Product capabilities and revenue driving treatments.

  • Critical participant in concept development, feasibility assessment, and end-to-end customer experience design.

  • Understand business objectives and customer needs, and identify creative ways to leverage capabilities and develop new solutions to meet those needs.

  • Lead Consumer-wide pivotal initiatives to drive business results, improve customer experiences, and increase agility in product development.

  • Lead intake and assessment of new demand and facilitating trade-off options and decision-making.

  • Continuously improve the investment planning and product development processes to drive greater efficiency, agility, and effectiveness.

What you will bring:

  • Self-starter with track record of excelling in a fast-paced environment

  • A creative and innovative thinker and problem-solver who can manage effectively through ambiguity and evolving strategies, while maintaining strong customer focus

  • Comfort with technology, and skilled at understanding business and customer needs and translating into tech requirements

  • Ability to understand the details of complex processes with an orientation toward process improvement and innovation, and an ability to translate across teams with various technical capacities

  • Excellent understanding of lending and card business drivers; ability to interpret financial information to find opportunities and develop business strategies

  • Experience with product ownership in an agile or scaled agile delivery environment is a plus

  • You have a positive attitude and maintain a sense of humor in the face of challenges and/or setbacks.

Qualifications

Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits
