ConEdison Fire Protection Engineer, Central Engineering Mechanical Engineering in New York, New York
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering and 3 years' of work experience in areas of design, and application of engineering principles specifically in the Fire Protection area of expertise.
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree Engineering and 3 years' of work experience in areas of design, and application of engineering principles specifically in the Fire Protection area of expertise.
Relevant Work Experience
Requires at least 3 years work experience in areas of design, and application of engineering principals in area of expertise and preferably Fire Protection. Experience should be such as is acceptable to NY State University for P.E. Examination.
Supervisory experience of professional and union employees preferred.
Requires computer proficiency.
Requires strong written and verbal communication skills.
Requires strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with personnel on all levels.

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
Licenses And Certfications
Driver's License Required
Professional Engineer (PE) PE License in Fire Protection Required
Physical Demands
Ability to respond to system emergencies
Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
Ability to climb ladders and stairs
Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
Ability to travel to company locations to work on storm restoration and heat contingencies
Additional Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
