Scholastic Field Sales Assistant in New York, New York

Job Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

Scholastic is seeking a Field Sales Assistant for the independent bookstore channel and Books-A-Million. The sales assistant will report to the Director of Field Sales/Special Markets and provide sales support to our field sales team.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Soliciting field sales rep quantities for sales materials

  • Uploading invoices and coop claims for all field and special markets accounts and Books-A-Million

  • Supporting the Books-A-Million Sales Manager with sales calls and previews

  • Arranging the bi-weekly field team call and taking notes

  • Creating various sales reports and sell sheets

  • Working closely with the field sales reps on all materials needed for Regional Shows

  • Researching potential new accounts and assisting with processing new account paperwork

  • Working closely with the Sales Director to create targeted account lists for monthly marketing mailings

  • Assisting with sales related projects as needed

Qualifications

HOW YOU CAN FIT (Qualifications)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Familiar with Google Docs

  • Highly organized

  • Strong time management skills

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Strong interest in sales, preferably in publishing
