Job Description The SUNY College of Optometry is seeking an Administrative Assistant to provide a broad range of administrative services.
The individual must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written; good organizational skills, and be an excellent self-starter who can balance competing and shifting priorities.
Manage office operations, activities and procedures, including file maintenance, database management, organizing departmental meetings and taking minutes
Answer phones
Assist with processing invoices and payments
Calendaring
Help with fiscal year-end activities - Handle mail and signing for packages
Filing
Data entry / updating
Directing visitors to the right conference room and/or office
calling facilities and security as needed to put in work orders
other administrative duties as needed.
Required Qualifications:
An minimum of an associate degree with some administrative experience, superior verbal and written communication skills, the ability to use independent judgement and maintain confidentiality, and be proficient with Office 365 (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and social media platforms.
