Overview

The E-Mobility Utility Coordinator is responsible for ensuring effective day-to-day and long-term collaboration between the E-Mobility team and other internal Con Edison groups to provide a +1-customer experience to program participants. Responsible for:Researching and answering technical questions about grid impact and grid upgrades needed for EV charger projects Collaborating with Energy Services and Engineering teams on processes, procedures, customer education, and project-specific issues Ensuring that Energy Services and Engineering teams are up to date on PowerReady program implementation and statusPresenting technical information to program participants and prospective participantsSupporting cross-functional business communications and collaboration between multiple Con Edison organizations

We are investing hundreds of millions of dollars annually to integrate distributed resources into our electric and gas systems, support electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and scale adoption of energy efficiency and clean heating technologies across our customers.

  • The Electric Mobility (E-Mobility) Utility Coordinator will support coordination and effective collaboration between E-Mobility Team and Con Edison project management and engineering organizations, particularly in relation to operational timelines, processes, efficiencies, and program trends
  • Provide exceptional customer experience for potential or in-flight electric vehicle (EV) projects by ensuring clear communication between developers and internal Con Edison teams on EV interconnection requirements and processes
  • Identify needs to optimize and improve process efficiencies and drive implementation of any related changes
  • Support implementation of enhancements to program portal or reporting by identifying business needs from Energy Services and Engineering
  • Educate the business development team, program managers, and program participants on technical interconnection topics related to EV charging stations
  • Collaborate with program teams to identify and anticipate program or EV market/technology changes and needs that could impact internal business or system operations
  • Develop related communications or recommendations associated with program, market or technology changes
  • Role may include serving as subject matter expert for the team on EVSE station site constraints, real estate/leasing business practices, and other market conditions to identify how fleets and other customers can best streamline and optimize the site selection and development of EV charging stations in Con Edison territory
  • Role may include process design and implementation of pre-engagement advisory services for E-Mobility customers seeking to implement charging stations
  • Work effectively and participate on cross-functional teams responsible for new department initiatives that may arise from time to time
  • Provide problem solving and strategic support to the EV team including in development of new programs or related to process improvement of current programs
  • Represent the Companys interests to internal and external stakeholders as needed
  • Perform other related tasks and assignments as required
  • Ensure that safe work practices are followed, and the environment is fully protected in accordance with Company policy and governmental regulations.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years' work experience or
  • Master's Degree and 3 years' work experience
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Master's Degree Degree in engineering or sustainability disciplines and 3 years utility or other business work experience Project management, engineering experience and knowledge of utility new business processes
Relevant Work Experience
  • Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues who have a diverse set of experiences and approaches in order to drive business results, required. Required

  • Demonstrated ability to manage tense, complex, or technical customer issues in a calm, thorough, and professional manner, required. Required
  • Demonstrated agility and flexibility to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, required. Required
  • Strong communications, presentation and writing skills, required. Required
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite (i.e. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), required. Required
  • Technical understanding of Con Edisons electric system, preferred. Preferred
  • Experience with or knowledge of utility new business interconnection processes and operations, preferred. Preferred
  • 1-2 years project management experience at a utility in electric operations or engineering, preferred. Preferred
  • 1-3 years of experience in site acquisition and development for EV or clean energy projects in Con Edison territory, preferred. Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station operations and economics, preferred. Preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of EV charging station interconnection procedures, preferred.
Licenses And Certfications
  • Driver's License Required
Additional Physical Demands
  • Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
