Morgan Stanley Services Group, Inc. seeks a Directorin New York, New York

Utilize knowledge of Morgan Stanley’s derivatives trading systems to handle customer collateral and ensure the firm’s internal operations are compliant with the CFTC’s Customer Protection programs. Liaise between Morgan Stanley’s control group and counterparties to ensure that derivatives trades are conducted in a timely, efficient, and customer-safe manner. Handle the month-end reconciliation of initial margin, variation margin, and accrued interest for Morgan Stanley’s internal regulators. Collaborate with internal colleagues working across Morgan Stanley’s multiple divisions to ensure that margin collection, allocation, and monitoring is conducted efficiently and accurately. Oversee all facets of LSOC compliance, including acting as the single point of contact and escalation for traders, risk managers, business unit counterparts and information technology professionals. Handle intraday exchange margin calls. Develop and analyze Morgan Stanley’s Segregation Statements. Ensure adherence to quality standards and Morgan Stanley’s internal procedures by reviewing the Firm’s collateral maintenance practices.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $111,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.

Requirements:

Requires a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Operations Research, Finance, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related occupation. Alternatively, the employer will also accept a foreign 3 year Bachelor’s degree in the listed fields of study and five (5) years of experience. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Listed Derivatives trade settlement and bookkeeping including FCM Financial Balance Sheet and Accounting; de-recognition process as it applies to the calculation and application of interest received and paid to FCM counterparties and banks; FCM and Clearing member regulatory reporting of FCM financial data and derivatives position including 1-FR (FOCUS) Reporting; internal and external audit and regulator examinations; Listed Futures and Cleared Swaps products and exchanges, including CME, Eurex, ICE and LCH; exchange reports and online GUIs; operational and financial risk management; Microsoft Excel including VBA, and macro building; policy and procedure writing and reviews. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Residual Interest calculations including how to perform the calculations and the funding of customer segregated accounts to maintain compliance with CFTC regulations; Rule 971.E and its application to customer segregated balances related to foreign and domestic trading; CFTC Customer Segregation and relevant rules 1.20 to 1.32 and 30.7 for Customer Foreign Secured Amount.
