Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate Dean for Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions is responsible for marketing and admissions strategy for all MS programs, processes and activities, and supervising a team of professional and support staff. Directs and leads overarching office supervision of admissions and recruitment activities and staff. Overseas strategic enrollment and recruitment projects, which includes outreach efforts, communication development and execution, social media activity, recruitment policy and procedures, and application procedures, policy and review.


  • Directs and oversees the admissions and recruitment process, promoting and marketing the MS Programs nationally.

  • Designs and directs comprehensive marketing strategies for all MS programs.

  • Responsible for developing and implementing cost-effective, integrated and innovative programs that will lead to a diverse pool of qualified students and increased enrollments

  • Manages admissions operations for the MS Programs, meeting admissions goals set by the Dean and Associate Dean. Establishes and maintains processes, procedures, and standards to uphold and strengthen the integrity of the admissions process from application through enrollment.

  • Hires and supervises professional and support staff. Collaborates with and involves other staff in admissions activities.

  • Interviews candidates, recommends admissions action, and prepares reports as needed.

  • Manages all data related to admitted and matriculated students. Ensures consistent data collection and reporting.

  • In conjunction with Associate Dean, plans and directs program information sessions on campus and at locations in target markets, involving key administrators, faculty, alumni, and students where appropriate.

  • Utilizes strategies for admissions and marketing research projects, manages project timelines, supervise and create report production.

  • Together with staff, designs questionnaires and ensures survey sampling and implementation strategy. Works with direct reports to assure survey and project accuracy.

  • Responsible for the analysis and reporting of all research data; responsible for the development of monthly and annual forecasts of admissions leads and enrollments and market shares. Develops and implements conversion and yield strategies for applicants to meet enrollment goals.

  • Responsible for the budget of and financial matters pertaining to admissions, recruitment and marketing operations. Maintains effective cost controls.

  • Represents the School and Associate Dean both internally at the university level and externally to various outside groups and organizations, acting as the principal liaison on MS admissions when necessary.

  • Special projects as assigned and/or necessary.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related experience that includes administrative and supervisory responsibilities in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the role of information technology.

  • Marketing experience in enrollment management.

  • Demonstrated experience in data analysis.

  • Enrollment planning and budget management.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with and have knowledge of diverse constituencies.

  • Demonstrated excellence in a variety of competencies, which may include: national educational marketing, strategy creation and implementation, public speaking and presentation skills, organizational and process management, staff supervision and development.

  • An ability to work with changing priorities and multiple projects.

  • Skill at building and maintaining relationships, and working with multiple constituencies within the School and University community.

  • The ability to exercise discretion and judgment in sensitive and confidential matters is required.

  • Must be willing to travel and work some evenings and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related advanced degree is preferred (MS in Higher Education, MPA, MBA, etc.).
