NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing Director for Academic Advising Initiatives in New York, New York

Position Summary

The Director leads efforts to support, develop, and elevate academic advising University-wide through collaborating with advising leadership from NYU schools, departments, and campus-wide partners. This includes developing and implementing a comprehensive training and professional development program, creating shared onboarding systems and materials, partnering with the Office of Student Success to develop standard advising assessment and technology, supporting advising practice innovation, and coordinating advising recognition efforts. In collaboration with the advising community, this position builds the NYU Academic Advising Framework to define a quality proactive advising experience for students and advisors to shape current practices and student interactions while clearly articulating aspirations for the future.

Qualifications

Required Education

Master’s degree in higher education administration, social work, counseling and guidance, student personnel administration, or related field.

Required Experience

5+ years experience in academic advising at the college or university level with progressive leadership experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated experience with program development and change management. Demonstrated experience building strategic partnerships and familiarity with learning design and instructional design (e-learning, asynchronous).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative environment. Excellent written and verbal communication (including public speaking), interpersonal, networking, leadership, project management, organization, and multitasking skills, along with strong data, research, and presentation skills. Self-starter and demonstrated ability to take accountability for projects and deliverables.

Additional Information

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $100,000.00 to USD $140,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.NYU aims to be among the greenest urban campuses in the country and carbon neutral by 2040.
