Digital Product Manager, Platform XD

Bank of America’s Experience Design team includes researchers, strategic designers, design program managers, content strategists, design technologists, and experience designers. The team is constantly iterating, solving problems, and working together to find ways all our digital platforms can empower customers to reach their financial goals in more customized, intuitive, innovative, engaging, secure and time-saving techniques.

We are seeking a Digital Product Manager to join our Platform XD team and help us manage our enterprise design system as we grow and evolve our enterprise design system.

Our ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in Digital Product Management. They must have a customer-first mindset, a strong understanding of design systems, human-centered design and programming languages. Additionally, the ability to develop data pipelines that can be used to track, analyze, and improve our digital product will be important. This role requires a candidate with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills as you'll be working with a team to interpret and solve for enterprise wide design and efficacy challenges.

Objectives of this Role

  • Help drive the design system product strategy and long term vision

  • Collaborating with designers, developers and research teams from end to end of the process.

  • Ability to craft a product vision (short to long term) and convert that into a concrete business objectives and strategy

  • Participate in research, validation, and LOB/usage analysis to identify new opportunities for new and existing design system process, routines, elements and communications

  • Partner with business owners and agile product teams to build product roadmaps that will be incorporated in the enterprise design system to the broader company product portfolio plan

  • Manage the day-to-day of the team Jira, maintaining and evolving the existing routines and processes

  • Work on managing, storing, processing and analyzing large data sets to identify design system opportunities/efficiencies

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Manage the product roadmap and backlog for the enterprise design system

  • Oversee and manage lead requirements discovery, solution design, user story writing, feature development, and user acceptance testing

  • Partner with the portfolio teams and XD senior leadership to identify key capabilities needed as well as identifying potential issues with the enterprise design system

  • Partner with cross functional teams regularly to ensure alignment on the design system development and element prioritization

  • Partner with technology to manage the roadmap and backlog to ensure that IT delivers all design system elements on time and per expectation

  • Monitor and evaluate product performance to ensure constant product iteration and improvements

Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years experience in digital product management or similar

  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills

  • Usability and customer-focused design experience a plus

  • Passionate about building great products and solving customer and business problems
