JPMorgan Chase Design System Accessibility Lead, Vice President in New York, New York

As an Experience Design Accessibility Lead, Vice President, you will play a crucial role developing and maintaining an inclusive and accessible design system. Applying your background in accessibility standards, usability evaluation, and a passion for creating user-friendly experiences for all individuals. Your work will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our design system incorporates accessible design patterns and supports the diverse needs of our users.

Job responsibilities

  • Lead the integration of accessibility best practices into our design system, ensuring that core components and design patterns are usable by individuals with diverse abilities

  • Conduct usability evaluations and accessibility assessments to identify areas for improvement with the design system, and provide actionable recommendations to enhance accessibility

  • Collaborate with design, development, and product teams to define and implement accessible design patterns and guidelines within the design system

  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design principles across the organization, providing guidance and support to teams in adopting and implementing accessible design patterns

  • Stay informed about industry best practices, standards, and regulations related to accessibility, and ensure that the design system aligns with these requirements

  • Provide training and mentorship to team members on accessibility considerations and best practices, fostering a culture of accessibility awareness and expertise within the organization

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with strong focus on accessibility and usability evaluation with a design system or digital product environment

  • Prior Knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including WCAG 2.1, ARIA, and best practices for designing accessible interfaces

  • Demonstrate experience in conducting usability evaluations, accessibility testing, and providing actionable recommendations for improving accessibility

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and advocate for accessibility considerations

  • Proficiency in using accessibility evaluation tools and assistive technologies to assess and improve the accessibility of digital products

  • Familiarity with design systems, component libraries, and the ability to translate accessibility requirements into design patterns and guidelines

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Collaboration and communication abilities with solid verbal, writing, visual communication, and presentation skills

  • Able to work individually and collaboratively on all team initiatives and roadmaps

  • Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Camtasia or other similar applications

New York,NY $123,500.00 - $180,000.00 / year
