GENERAL FUNCTION

The Senior Manager of Portfolio Licensing and Product Strategy manages the relationship and business development of the licensed brands within the Walman portfolio and drives the product strategy to optimize, enhance and grow the strength of house brands and LLBs. This role interacts with all key stakeholders within the Walman and Essilor Luxottica organization and reports to the SVP Licensing and Style Americas.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

License management

  • Participate in the negotiation of new license agreements with potential licensees and/or renewals of license agreements. Ensure that the agreements include necessary terms and conditions to protect the company's interests.

  • Maintain relationships with licensees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to develop the brands’ business in line with the growth plans.

  • Interact and coordinate with FGX and EL to explore opportunities to craft master license contracts to leverage the different capabilities of the EL ecosystem to maximize value to key customers.

Product strategy and execution

  • Analyze the portfolio of brands and products to retool the product offering to cater to the market needs while maximizing the productivity by SKU.

  • Customer face with top key account customers to present the brands and their strategic direction and support Sales in strategizing the angle to fit on key accounts boards.

  • Collaborate and interface with the design teams who manage the factories to stay connected through the product execution throughout the development process.

Business Development

  • Create a 3-year product strategy and product life-cycle plans that fit the company’s selling tactics, distribution channels and financial goals.

  • Support and mentor the Sales team in creating their commercial brand plans and monitor the upsides and gaps monthly.

  • Build business cases and business update documents as needed to foster and develop the relationship with the licensors and manage their expectations on growth.

  • Lead and share Business Reviews to internal and external stakeholders to monitor progress versus the established 3YPs and budget guidelines.

  • Lead special projects / initiatives as they arise in developing the Licensing / Product / Brand development of the Nouveau family as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or related field or equivalent experience

  • 7+ years of experience in product development and licensing or related field

  • 3+ years of management experience

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and a proven ability to drive a product line through a strong growth stage

  • Strong leadership skills to be able to create cross-functional partnerships

  • Intimate understanding of the Brand and our core consumer

  • Thorough knowledge of the competitive landscape and the key industry dynamics

  • Effective communicator and presenter with strong leadership skills and experience communicating complex information to multiple audiences

  • Strong presentation skills (PowerPoint development and presentation) and experience presenting to senior leadership

  • Excellent Analytical Skills – ability to analyze large sets of data and scan external sources of information. Strong Excel modeling (financial and business)

  • Willingness to self-start and the ability to prioritize, multitask and work well under pressure

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA or equivalent preferred

​Pay Range: 120,541.20 - 176,372.80

Employee pay is determined by multiple factors, including geography, experience, qualifications, skills and local minimum wage requirements. In addition, you may also be offered a competitive bonus and/or commission plan, which complements a first-class total rewards package.
