Neuberger Berman Corporate Development & Strategy Analyst / Associate in New York, New York

Summary :

Team whose responsibilities include:

  • Developing and refining the firm’s long-term strategic direction

  • Identifying and executing growth initiatives and strategic priorities

  • Evaluating, negotiating, and managing acquisitions, team lift-outs, divestitures, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships

  • Identifying and addressing business unit issues and opportunities

  • Assisting senior management on a wide variety of critical firm activities

  • Managing and leveraging the firm’s relationships with financial services counterparties

Responsibilities:

  • Corporate Development – Perform activities throughout the entire timeline of corporate development projects, including candidate sourcing and evaluation, financial modeling and analysis, deal structuring, due diligence, contract negotiation, and integration

  • Strategic Planning – Conduct financial and strategic analysis to develop fact-based insights and recommendations for firm wide and business unit initiatives. Analysis involves assessing market trends and the competitive landscape and evaluating strategic alternatives

  • Firm Management – Conduct analysis across a variety of firm matters to help senior management make key decisions. Examples include multi-year investment plan, firm capital structure and valuation, competitive benchmarking, and discussions with external constituents. Prepare presentations for the Board of Directors, shareholders, rating agencies and key governance committees

  • Counterparty management – Work with counterparties to identify business opportunities and further the firm’s objectives. Examples include expanding distribution relationships, increasing leverage commitments and finding outsourcing opportunities

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; 3.5 minimum GPA

  • Prior experience in investment banking, management consulting, or internal strategy preferred (1-3 years full-time)

  • Excellent analytical and quantitative aptitude

  • Exceptional research skills

  • Strong proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint

  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

  • Mature demeanor; comfortable interacting with senior management

  • Ability to think strategically about business opportunities

  • Good oral and written communications skills

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Superior attention to detail

  • Eager to learn about the asset management industry

Compensation Details

The salary range for this role is $120,000-$140,000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New York City. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus.
