JPMorgan Chase Corporate Business Management - Associate in New York, New York

Legal Finance & Business Management is seeking a junior finance and business manager to join the Corporate Legal Business Management team (supporting Corporate Legal and performing other general Business Management duties), providing financial, and analytical support to the Corporate Legal department.

As an Associate on the Corporate Legal Business Management team with in Finance and Business Management you will act as trusted advisor and counterweight to Business/Group Heads, and are responsible for identifying, escalating, and mitigating business risks. You must be comfortable with change as a business manager is dynamic and can vary from business to business, in line with the priorities of the different lines of business. You must have strong skills in metrics analysis, data analysis, spend forecasting, and financial analysis, as well as effective time management, prioritization and organization. You will need to be a responsible self-starter who is able to articulate their thoughts clearly with excellent attention to detail.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with reporting on and managing budget/forecasting for Headcount, Direct Expenses, Allocations & External Outside Counsel Expenses in partnership with the Planning & Analysis team, and provide meaningful commentary for Corporate Legal

  • Assist with management meeting agendas, meeting materials, presentations, business reviews, town halls, and offsites

  • Provide a high level of responsiveness to executive ad-hoc requests related to project management, presentation development, business analysis, and managing the operations of the department

  • Participate in collaborative initiatives with team members and global managers, looking for ways to continually simplify, improve, and add value to existing business processes

  • Helping to drive and accelerate Legal priorities for the group and key areas of focus for the General Counsel and the Legal Management team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or other related area

  • At least 2+ years of workforce experience

  • Intermediate to advanced level ability expected in all MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Pivot Tables)

  • Proven experience delivering timely, high quality presentations and/or reporting for various projects and stakeholders. Attention to detail is a must with continuous focus on design excellence.

  • Must be able to organize complex information in a compelling way, demonstrating concise communication, strong design acumen and expertise in Excel and PowerPoint techniques

  • Excellent written and oral communication, time management, prioritization, organization and project management skills

  • Ability to think out of the box and come up with solutions / connect with the right people

  • Self-motivated, tenacious and able to work with a high degree of independence

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Prior experience in Finance / Business Management preferred

  • Ability to drive projects / initiatives and influencing skills
