As a CMDB Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the configuration management database (CMDB) efforts within our organization. Your responsibilities will include defining the scope and objectives of the CMDB, identifying relevant attributes and relationships to capture, ensuring data accuracy and detail, and maximizing the benefits derived from the CMDB. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain and enhance the CMDB, supporting efficient IT service management processes. This position requires technical proficiency in the ServiceNow CMDB and CSDM data model, best practices, the ability to translate technical and business needs into action, an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.

A successful candidate will understand of the importance of customer service, timely investigations, and resolutions, able to present recommendations for improvements the process and/or procedures; able to quickly adapt to changes operational changes and ensure those changes properly integrated into the team's duties.

Responsibilities

  • CMDB Leadership:
    • Lead the identification of configuration items (CIs) to include in the CMDB.
    • Define the level of accuracy and detail required for maintaining CMDB records.
    • Establish outcomes and benefits expected from the CMDB implementation.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to assess asset status, needs, risks, goals, and progress.
  • Data Management:
    • Ensure completeness, compliance, and correctness of the CMDB.
    • Maintain data quality, integrity, and security.
    • Schedule certification and attestation to validate CMDB information.
  • Tool Administration:
    • Administer tools and related applications to ensure completeness and correctness of the CMDB
  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously improve processes to ensure CMDB completeness, compliance, and correctness
    • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
  • Reporting and Metrics:
    • Generate reports to support audits, configuration status, and lifecycle management.
    • Own and monitor CMDB performance metrics. Take action as needed.
  • Manage team work queue, day to day activities, staffing levels and priorities for the team
  • Ensure the team has accurate and up to date operational procedures
  • Develop and manage initiatives related to IT Asset Management and IT Compliance roadmap/activities
  • Review, create and maintain reports and metrics for operational data quality, coverage and usability

Knowledge and Experience

  • 3-5 yrs. Hands on experience with ServiceNow configuration management and CMDB administration.
  • ServiceNow CMDB Health and CMDB Workspace management and configuration
  • Building ServiceNow reports and dashboards
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related work experience.
  • Minimum of 2yrs managing small (3-5) or medium sized teams as a manager or supervisor
  • Able to develop work plans based on team goals as well as manage project
  • Strong in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • As needed, develop solutions independently and/or collaboratively
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • ServiceNow Performance Analytics experience
  • Familiarity with other configuration and data management tools.
  • Expertise in Excel formulas, data analysts, and reporting
  • ITIL certification is a plus

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
