JPMorgan Chase Compliance - Surveillance Data and Innovation Product Lead - Vice President in New York, New York

As the Surveillance Data and Innovation Product Lead in the Global Compliance Surveillance Program team, you will be responsible for managing key products within CCOR's Global Compliance Trade and Electronic Communications Surveillance Program. This role requires a deep understanding of financial markets, trading data, and data governance as well as prior product management experience. You will work closely with global Compliance, Technology, and Data Science stakeholders to shape the business objectives and target outcomes, and then lead product delivery of new data, analytics, and technology solutions that advance our Surveillance Program's multi-year innovation strategy and roadmap.

Job responsibilities

  • Product ownership for one or more Surveillance product lines within the broader Surveillance Innovation product portfolio, including product level OKRs, requirements, specifications, timelines, test planning and oversight, prioritization of work, and partnering with technology and data science team members throughout development to ensure clear understanding of requirements and quality of delivery.

  • Leverage and deepen subject matter expertise in trade and communications surveillance data and functional domains to guide the design of innovative solutions, with the overarching goal of increasing compliance risk management effectiveness and efficiency.

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders and maintain collaborative partnerships across Surveillance, Data Science, Technology, the Chief Data Office, vendors, and other internal teams.

  • Drive quarterly product roadmap sessions with key stakeholders, and actively participate in the Surveillance Product Council.

  • Participate in the expansion of a comprehensive data governance framework and drive the business requirements for managing the quality of Surveillance data.

  • Regularly collect feedback from product users to assess their needs and identify areas for product improvement. Devise the approach to integrate these needs into product roadmap.

  • Manage discovery efforts, including market research and routine evaluation of third-party solutions, to uncover new ways of addressing customer needs.

  • Provide subject matter expertise on trade and electronic communications surveillance products to internal stakeholders.

  • Keep current on regulatory changes / priorities, and industry trends / best practices to ensure the firm's surveillance products remain current and effective.

  • Adapt to the fast-paced and flexible nature of agile product development.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for surveillance data, processes, and systems.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or a related field required

  • 8+ years of related experience.

  • Experience in a Trade Surveillance analyst or product role, or working with trading data.

  • Experience with the implementation of data governance frameworks and best practices.

  • Track record of product innovation and development.

  • Customer-centric experience working across large homogeneous financial organizations and financial disciplines.

  • Adept at translating complex, technical messaging into written communications appropriate for executive and business audiences.

  • Demonstrates full appreciation of and compliance with regulatory obligations.

  • Desire to use modern technologies as a disruptive influence within the Finance domain.

  • Track record of delivering specific and tangible outcomes, using common delivery disciplines (project plans / sprint planning, dates, reporting, etc.).

  • Exercise sound judgment; act with integrity; protect our company, clients and customers.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • MBA or master's in engineering a plus.

  • Experience in strategy consulting, business analysis, human-centered design, or process analysis/mapping, a strong plus.

  • Curious and creative thinker, who identifies potential for improvements in any area.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.

  • Recognized as subject matter expert, trusted partner or role model.

  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent attention to detail.

  • Prior people leadership experience a plus.
