ConEdison Chief Construction Inspector, Public Improvement Engineering in New York, New York
Required Education/Experience
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of business/field construction experience or
Associate's Degree and 4 years of business/field construction experience or
High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of business/field construction experience
Preferred Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Architecture preferred and 2 years of business/field construction experience
Relevant Work Experience
Fundamental background in construction management and be knowledgeable in electrical, mechanical, civil, chemical, construction or Operations Required
Knowledge of the facilities, remediation, electric, gas and/or steam system Required
Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Words, Excel, Powerpoint, Access database, etc.) Required
Ability to interface with external agencies and customers Required
Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills Required
Knowledge of Building Code and permit requirements Required
Knowledge of safety and environmental procedures related to working in generating stations, substations, commercial facilities or public streets Required
Knowledge of contract administration procedures, inspection and cost control Required
Proficiency and knowledge of ProjectWise, Auto-CAD, Micro-station, Microsoft Projects, Primavera, MAXIMO, and/or Oracle Work Management System Preferred
Licenses And Certfications
- Driver's License Required
Physical Demands
Must work in inclement weather and adverse conditions (i.e., excessive heat, cold, noise, confined spaces)
Must walk, stand, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach
Must use their personal vehicles and transport, store, and secure company laptop computers and other job related equipment in the vehicle. Reimbursement for use of personal vehicle is available through the company mileage procedure.
Additional Physical Demands
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
