Amazon Robotics develops state-of-the art robotics for Amazon’s Fulfillment Centers, which handle more individual items than any company in the world. We are combining computer vision, mobile robots, advanced end-of-arm tooling and high-degree of freedom movement to solve real-world problems at huge scale. Our team collaborates with a variety of customers across Amazon worldwide to conceive, develop, prototype and deploy a wide range of robotic systems. Within Amazon Robotics, Global Operations - Artificial Intelligence (GO-AI) enables Amazon to accelerate and scale our machine learning transformation via human-in-the-loop support. GO-AI’s Technology & Development Team is a cross-functional team of Data Engineers, Software Developers, Technical Program Managers, and Business Intelligence Engineers who are responsible for the technical strategy and delivery for GO-AI.

Key job responsibilities

• Design, development and ongoing operations of scalable, performant data warehouse (Redshift) tables, data pipelines, reports and dashboards.

• Development of moderately to highly complex data processing jobs using appropriate technologies (e.g. SQL, Python, Spark, AWS Lambda, etc.)

• Development of dashboards and reports.

• Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business domains, requirements, and expectations. Additionally, working with owners of data source systems to gain insights into capabilities and limitations.

• Deliver minimally to moderately complex data analysis.

• Adopt best practices in reporting: data integrity, test design, validation, and documentation.

• Excellence verbal and written communication skills.

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats and go over and above to drive results.

A day in the life

• Engage with a diverse range of stakeholders, both technical and non-technical, to provide comprehensive BI solutions.

• Develop and refine a robust data architecture and reporting framework by navigating various business criteria to ensure data accuracy and reliability.

• Own creating, evolving, and managing essential metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards that drive key business decisions.

• Uphold high standards in reporting and analytical practices, focusing on data accuracy, experimental design, analysis methodologies, validation processes, and thorough documentation.

• Build knowledge regarding advancements in technology, tools, methodologies, and best practices in analytics, and disseminate this knowledge within the analytics team.

• Extract valuable insights from client feedback and operational data, propose actionable recommendations, and assist GO-AI leadership in making pivotal business decisions.

• Design and execute studies to assess the impact and efficiency of various initiatives, contributing to the improvement of key performance indicators and influencing the strategic direction in the long term.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

• Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

• Experience writing complex SQL queries

• Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

• Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

• Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
