About the team

PED team is a shared services team that serves the product teams for Dashboard/SMB Ecom, Sales & Boarding and OMNI/Worldpay Total. The team serves to deliver infrastructure requirements in terms of Design, engineering and complete end to end integration of the applications and its deployment (CI/CD) lifecycle. The engineering part of the team provides various Cloud, DevOps, Environment management to the product dev & test teams. They also provide various skills on on-boarding new applications to the CI/CD pipelines and automation/config management where necessary. Note: This new team in India will be made up of cloud engineers, application/database engineers, hosting engineers and a hands on technical lead looking after a group of engineers working on delivering hosting platforms in hybrid environment (cloud and on-prem infrastructure) for various projects.

What you will be doing

  • Look after On prem and Cloud Dev/SIT environments, automation, CI/CD pipeline enhancement/features, resolving issues with environments/applications, building further capacity for deployable's, work on deployments using the CI/CD pipeline, troubleshooting, assist in investigations weather its functional, OAT or PT testing.
  • Work closely with the Designer to ensure applications are deployable to the cloud, perform Proof of concepts, maintains the CI/CD pipeline, maintain configuration of the deployments, manage and setup keys/authentication and S2S Auth etc., Look after all Cloud Dev Envs including messaging services such as Kafka, MQTT, Apache Grid etc.

Skills Required:

  • Strong experience with AWS cloud
  • Knowledge of containers, OCP / Kubernetes
  • Proven Experience of setting up CI/CD pipelines.
  • Deployment using known tools and processes - Jenkins, Cloudbees, Nexus, Artifactory, Github etc.
  • CDN knowledge (Akamai, Fastly)
  • Messaging/data streaming platform experience is bonus (Kafka preferred)
  • Understanding of Network setup between On-Prem and Cloud
  • Automation knowledge (Ansible, Chef, Puppet) is good to have

General:

  • Have knowledge of working in a Hybrid Environment - Cloud and On-Prem with desired knowledge of distributed systems
  • Self Starter/Motivated/Good communication skills
  • Project/Delivery Based Mindset
  • Micro-servicing - microservices, gateways, service meshes, service discovery

What you bring:

Primary skill :-

  • Anticipated from the resource is to have at least 6 + years of experience in provisioning, operations, and management of AWS environments
  • Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, RDS, S3, ELB, Lambda, CloudWatch , TGW, EKS, RabitMQ, )
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options in AWS
  • Deep experience in IAAS with good fundamentals in compute, storage, networks and security as well as PAAS. Good understanding of all cloud services and ability to choose the right service for a workload among multiple services.
  • Knowledge of Kfaka /Cassandra Messaging/ data streaming for cloud engineers (Kafka)
  • Strong knowledge of operating system administration (Linux e.g. Redhat, Windows, Ubuntu, CentOS...) and networking
  • Work collaboratively with software engineering to define infrastructure and deployment requirements
  • Troubleshoot problems across a wide array of services and functional areas.
  • Build and maintain operational tools for deployment, monitoring, and analysis of AWS infrastructure and systems
  • Experience building and maintaining AWS infrastructure (VPC, EC2, Security Groups, IAM, RDS, S3, ELB, Lambda, CloudWatch)
  • Good to have knowledge /Experience on Devops tools CI/CD , Jenkins , Docker, Kubernetes , OCP, Apache, Nginx, Nagios, ELK, Grafana and deploying applications on AWS
  • Self-Starter/Motivated/Good communication skills
  • Project/Delivery Based Mindset
  • Knowledge of Micro-servicing - microservice, gateways, service meshes, service discovery
  • Cloud - AWS, Azure OCP/Kubernetes needs to be experience backed - (Certification Desirable but not a must)

Secondary skill :-

  • Understanding of Network setup between On-Prem and Cloud and integration
  • Have knowledge of working in a Hybrid Environment - Cloud and On-Prem with desired knowledge of distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code language with Terraform
  • Strong knowledge of IT Automation with Ansible
