Covenant Review is currently seeking a Junior Research Analyst based out of our New York office.

Covenant Review is a Fitch Solutions company that specializes in Leveraged Finance legal documents. Our team of experienced leveraged finance lawyers provide our subscribers (including hedge funds, insurance companies, mutual funds, and other asset managers) with market-leading analysis of the covenants drafted in the largest leveraged finance deals in the US, primarily covering high yield bonds and leveraged loans. We are looking for an entry-level Research Analyst to join our New York team. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to ultimately embark on a career in the financial and / or legal services sector, in areas such as asset management, credit research, investment banking, or corporate law.

What We Offer:

• Learn the basics of the capital markets via assisting lawyers in the analysis of indentures and loan agreements
• Opportunities to assist the lawyers in updating existing research by drafting changes to reports that reflect supplemental documents or final terms
• Opportunities to develop internally via Covenant Review or within the wider Fitch Group

We'll Count on You To:

• Proofread, edit, format, and distribute legal reports for publication
• Assist the lawyers with day-to-day administrative assistance, such as document procurement, running blacklines, preparing reports, and communicating with clients
• Assist the analysts by preparing research notes on legal developments and deal trends
• Proactively manage and organize documentation and reports to ensure lawyers can work efficiently
• Ensure that our website is up-to-date and reflects real-world commercial developments in regards to documents, outstanding securities, and key changes to company information

What You Need to Have:

• Recent graduate
• Superior proofreading and editing skills
• Strong attention to detail plus the ability to multi-task and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfort with Microsoft Office Suite

FOR NEW YORK ROLES ONLY: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $70, 000 and $75, 000. Actual salaries will be determined on an individualized basis and may vary based on factors including but not limited to education, training, experience, past performance, and other job-related factors. Base pay is one part of Fitch's total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, long-term incentives, and other benefits sponsored by Fitch.
