About the Role:

The Associate Director leads and is the 'go to' for all subscriber retention analysis, insights, forecasting and budgeting across all of Dow Jones' B2C brands. Specifically, the Associate Director will develop a detailed understanding of why subscribers are/are not renewing their subscriptions through daily/weekly/monthly analysis of all subscriber cohorts. With that, the Associate Director will then communicate and integrate these learnings with the rest of the team to develop and optimize the overall retention strategy, while also forecasting performance (retention rates, churn, LTV, etc.) across all subscriber cohorts. In addition, the Associate Director will be responsible for building a holistic retention strategy across Dow Jones' B2C wealth and investing brands, products and services which include Barron's and MarketWatch.

The Wall Street Journal is the definitive source of news and information through the lens of business, finance, economics and money, global forces that shape the world and are key to understanding it. Barron's covers U.S. financial information, market developments, and relevant statistics, while MarketWatch provides financial information, business news, analysis, and stock market data.

The role reports to our Senior Director of Retention, and manages a team focused on subscriber cohort insights/analysis, forecasting/budgeting and wealth and investing retention strategy. The Associate Director works cross-functionally with teams across Dow Jones (Acquisition, CRM, Customer Service, Data Science, Finance, Product, Technology).

You Will:

  • Drive retention insights through detailed cohort analysis of the subscriber base, in partnership with the data science team, to develop new strategies as well as optimize existing journeys.

  • Develop process to turn insights into actionable strategies (pricing, communications, experience) to increase retention and LTV

  • Partner with subscriber acquisition to optimize the full subscriber funnel, across all cohorts and introductory offers, to drive long term retention

  • Lead all retention forecasting, in partnership with data science and finance, as well as the budget process across all Dow Jones B2C subscriber cohorts

  • Focus on retainment of wealth and investing subscriptions through a personalized retention journey and strategy.

  • Lead a high performing team and develop KPI's and plans to assist the team in achieving goals.

You Have:

  • 10 years of experience working in customer/subscriber retention with a focus on building subscriber insights and turning them into actionable strategies

  • Prior responsibilities and direct leadership for retention forecasting and budgeting

  • Expertise in subscription based businesses

  • Experience leading a team

  • A bachelor's degree in marketing, and/or business administration is preferred

Pay Range: $110,000 - $135,000
