Yeshiva University Associate Director of Practicum Education in New York, New York

Position Summary:

The Associate Director of Practicum Education ensures the overall operation of practicum education in the MSW online program, with primary responsibility and lead accountability for practicum education of all students in the Online MSW program. This position reports to the Executive Director of Practicum Education with additional oversight by the Associate Dean of the Online MSW Program.

Position Responsibilities:

Faculty Oversight

  • Recruit high performing practicum education faculty with proven teaching competencies
  • Supervise and evaluate practicum education faculty and provide annual performance reviews
  • With Associate Dean, ensure the proper scheduling and staffing of practicum education courses
  • Serve as co-instructor for practicum education courses and/or practicum extension courses as needed
  • Provide consultation to practicum education faculty regarding students who are having difficulty finding a placement or completing practicum education requirements
  • Ensure that practicum education faculty enter student grades in a timely manner
  • Support practicum education faculty in ongoing professional development.
  • Facilitate practicum education adjunct staffing assignments each semester

Student Relations

  • Work closely with Academic Advisors, and Student Success Coordinators, to support student success
  • Support systems and processes for coordination between Academic and Practicum Advising
  • Work in conjunction with Everspring to support student enrollment in practicum courses
  • Review and manage student evaluations of practicum faculty and course content
  • Respond to difficult student issues as needed
  • Provide practicum advising for high-risk students and students in extension courses

Program Development/Support

  • Develop, maintain, and implement policies and processes for the smooth operation of practicum education
  • Coordinate practicum education course development as needed
  • Assess the quality of practicum education course content and swiftly identify courses that need immediate revisions
  • Identify areas of need and improvement to maintain the success of practicum education
  • Participate in school committees, meetings, and projects, including but not limited to faculty meetings, department meetings, and practicum education committee meetings
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with placement agencies

Experience & Educational Background:

  • MSW degree, LMSW or LCSW required
  • 7-10 years of progressive administrative and/or direct service experience in human services or education
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in social work education and administration
  • Practicum education experience required

Skills & Competencies:

  • Must have program development and personnel management experience
  • Undergraduate or graduate teaching experience is desirable
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Direct practicum instructor experience
  • Clinical practice experience
  • Supervisory experience
  • Understanding of the vision and mission of the Wurzweiler School of Social work and Yeshiva University is required

$84000 - $87000
