Associate Copywriter - Tommy Hilfiger

The THNA Creative Studio is a full-service, in-house integrated creative agency, supporting marketing and communications initiatives for Tommy Hilfiger, The Americas.

The Studio Team is responsible for all areas of creative development and execution across all marketing channels. Marketing channels include, but are not limited to, direct to consumer, email marketing, point of sale, e-commerce, wholesale, social media, influencer marketing, advertising, public relations and events.

The Associate Copywriter will deliver classic, American cool copy and ace proofreading skills for our team. They will be responsible for writing accurate, on-brand and engaging consumer messaging, ensuring the Tommy Hilfiger voice is clear, concise and consistent. They will work closely with cross-functional teams at all levels to develop on brand copy and concepts that can be messaged across all channels. Working under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment, this role requires a dedication to effective messaging and outstanding grammar, a strong interest in fashion and experience as a cross-divisional partner.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Sr. Copywriter to develop original, innovative, clear, persuasive brand copy that strategically delivers key messaging that meets business needs and promotes seasonal campaigns, key launches and product stories across all channels, including but not limited to POS collateral, DTC (Direct-to-Consumer), emails, site content, social and paid media, with opportunities to contribute elsewhere (special events, runway show, etc.) on an ad-hoc basis

  • Translate product stories and marketing needs into seasonal content that meets both business and brand objectives, building consumer interest and engagement across all touch points

  • Serve as the copy department’s lead proofreader

  • Liase with the legal team to clear names/colors, secure copyrights and trademarks and keep accurate records of all written intellectual proprieties

  • Maintain systems and copy bank for all copy; create database of all copy rounds, both current and final product copy, cleared product/franchise names, short form and long form descriptions, and any other product attributes or marketing copy

  • Stay abreast of current consumer and competitive trends and adapt the Tommy voice according to what is relevant and on-brand

  • Be on top of fashion terminology and trends with the ability to determine the product or historic details worth writing about and the foresight to find them if needed

  • Ensure copy is factual, branded partners are properly attributed and projects are vetted through legal when necessary, adhering to all regulatory and compliance regulations

  • Ability to line edit and proofread all assets being sent to market

  • Ability to develop clear timelines and ensure work is completed on-time and that copy team and creative studio are able to access needed materials

Qualifications:

  • 2-3+ years of copywriting experience, preferably for a fashion/retail brand

  • Bachelor’s degree; English, Journalism or Creative Writing degree, preferred

  • Strong and diverse vocabulary

  • Outstanding grammar, punctuation and copy editing skills

  • Keen understanding of the English language and history of fashion

  • Must be extremely detail oriented with a passion for accuracy

  • Adaptable to changing needs, dynamic personalities and quick turnarounds

  • Ability to think creatively, sometimes on the fly

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a high-stress environment

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize

  • MAC Skills, Excel, Keynote, PowerPoint and Workfront preferred

  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to see the big picture in timeline and resource planning. Be adept at collaboratively working with varied personalities and cross-functional departments

  • Have the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects within adherence to deadlines and budgets

  • Must be able to work both as a team member and independently. Must be flexible to adapt to shifting priorities

  • Ability to work in fluid environment with changing priorities required

  • No travel required

This position is not eligible for sponsorship.

Pay Range:$55,600 - $65,000

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
