At BlackRock, we are looking for Engineers who like to innovate and tackle sophisticated problems. We seek an individual to join our Private Credit Team which is a member of the larger Alternatives Team within BlackRock. The Alternatives team provides the software and data used to make investing in alternatives less alternative. Our software is used by the BlackRock Alternative Investors (BAI) group and various Fund Managers/Investors around the world.
In 2019 BlackRock acquired eFront to accelerate our alternatives technology capabilities given the significant growth in alternative investments in our clients' portfolios. eFront Insight is our market leading Private Markets data and analytics platform. While eFront
Investment Café is our Cloud-based SaaS offering with over half a million users. eFront Invest provides solutions to manage deal pipeline, middle and back office functions along with portfolio companies and assets.
Your role and impact
We seek someone hardworking to learn about new technology and financial concepts while helping investors reach financial wellbeing. As an Associate level engineer on the Private Credit Team you will work on improving existing applications. You will also work as part of the team developing the future cloud-based version of the Private Credit platform. Our technology empowers millions of investors by providing the private markets data and functionality needed to make investing in alternatives less alternative.
Making changes to improve existing Private Credit applications.
Develop the new cloud-based micro services for the new Private Credit platform.
Be involved in various parts of the software development lifecycle. This includes daily stand ups, retrospectives, design reviews and peer code reviews.
Contributing to technical whitepapers to outline software architecture plans.
Provide second level support for issues raised on Private Credit applications.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field
Two (2) years of experience in software development
Strong programming skills in C#, Entity Framework, Java, Spring, Hibernate
Experienced at using web application frameworks like React & Angular to build user interfaces
Experienced at working with SQL and NOSQL databases and tools (MySQL, Cassandra, SSMS, Aqua Data Studio)
Familiarity with Micro-Service architecture and Cloud concepts
