Description

The Assistant Volleyball Coach provides administrative, instructional, and recruiting support services under the direction and supervision of the Head Volleyball Coach.

Responsibilities:

  • Achieving a high level of competency in sport skill instruction, motivation, and conduct of practice sessions under the direction and in support of the Head Volleyball Coach.
  • Organizing, managing, and executing the recruitment of high level student athletes while maintaining all applicable records in recruiting and compliance software.
  • Demonstrating a sincere commitment to the social, emotional, academic development, and athletic welfare of student-athletes.
  • Exhibiting supportive and cooperative behavior in the pursuing sport program goals established by the Head Volleyball Coach.
  • Exhibiting leadership and professional behavior in dealing with student-athletes.
  • Completing all assignments made by the Head Volleyball Coach including but not limited to budget management, scheduling and fundraising, collection and analysis of technical volleyball data, practice planning and operational planning.
  • Responsible for teaching in the required Physical Education program.
  • Promoting the success of gender and minority equity initiatives by engaging in related recruiting activities and programs.
  • Participating in continuing education conferences, workshops, or meetings to increase professional skills and knowledge.
  • Exhibiting the highest professional standards and ethical behavior with adherence to NCAA, Council of Ivy League Presidents, University, and the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education rules and regulations.
  • Contributing to the maintenance of good working relationships with all members of the Department
    Performing duties as assigned by the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education
Qualifications

Minumum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Excellent writing, speaking, and listening skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A high level of competency in volleyball skill instruction and motivation, and understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment.
  • Strong recruiting, teaching and coaching skills.
  • An ability to build and maintain positive relationships with student athletes, staff and alumni.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching women's volleyball preferably at the NCAA. Division level
  • Valid Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Five years of coaching experience is preferred
  • Collegiate or professional experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and proficiency in Volleyballball specific software such as VS Pro or DV4
