Morgan Stanley Assistant Vice President Certificates of Deposits (CD) Product Manager in New York, New York

Morgan Stanley is building out an industry-leading deposits and cash management offering, that capitalizes on the acquisitions of E*TRADE and Shareworks.

We are seeking a talented and motivated AVP to join the Morgan Stanley Private Banking Group’s Deposits Product Management Team. The team is responsible for a variety of deposit products, with an emphasis on driving a holistic and engaging product experience spanning sweep deposits, savings, checking, CDs and foreign currency deposits.

The ideal candidate is passionate about being part of creating the best products possible as well as continually enhancing existing products. This involves working on products from initial concept through to product launch and beyond.

This is an opportunity to join an entrepreneurial team, focused on innovation and growing deposits across all channels at Morgan Stanley. The Deposits Product Management team collaborates with cross functional partners in Treasury, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Sales, Marketing, Operations & Technology to discover, develop, build, enhance and grow deposits. We leverage competitor data, market insights and data to design solutions that meet customer needs, align to business goals and maximize revenue for the firm.

Day-in-the-life of a Certificates of Deposits (CD) Product AVP could include (but not limited to):

• Analyze product trends, report on regional and nationwide performance including originations and retention; additionally partner with technology to improve reporting • Support product specific pricing strategies to grow deposits. Manage projects to create new initiatives and promotional campaigns to drive adoption across various channel including working with marketing. • Analyze competitive strategies across the industry • Track financial performance and develop key performance metrics; partner with modeling team to build and enhance models • Prepare analyses and financial forecasts to senior management • Assist in managing cross-functional teams with representatives from IT, operations, legal, compliance, marketing, business, and finance to launch and implement new initiatives • Support Financial Advisors, Private Bankers and Client Service Center in the sales of all deposit products and the resolution of any escalated client issue.

* * Experience: •4 - 6 years of professional experience in finance, treasury, data analytics or banking services •Strong understanding of retail and private banking products economics, rate environment, market trends •Demonstrated success in translating large data sets into business use cases and innovative solutions •Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting Skills/Abilities: •Analytical & strategic thinker who is able to work with large data sets to drive conclusion and translate data into specific goals •Able to define and evaluate strategies and business use cases •Self-starter who is able to work independently on multiple tasks; efficient time management skills and attention to detail •Strong product intuition and user empathy •Great presentation and powerpoint skills, with ability to put together cohesive, senior management-ready decks •Excellent verbal and written communication skills •Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Access) Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $125,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
