This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons as a faculty member is an exciting one. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Critical Care, Hospital and Palliative Medicine at NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and Columbia University Irving Medical Center is seeking an additional full-time cardiac intensivist to join our growing program. You would be joining an exciting division, which includes 5 cardiac intensivists, 14 pediatric intensivists and a growing team of palliative care and hospital medicine specialists. Supplementing clinical responsibilities will be a faculty appointment at Columbia University with rank commensurate with experience and credentials. Support for research, quality improvement, career development, leadership, education, and other academic pursuits are amply available.
NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital and Columbia Irving Medical Center include a premiere pediatric cardiac program in New York and nationally. We provide the highest-quality care to infants, children, and adolescents with complex congenital heart disease. The vigorous pediatric cardiac program at NYP Morgan Stanley Children's Hospital includes over 500 bypass cases per year (performed by 4 congenital cardiothoracic surgeons), over 1000 cardiac catheterizations per year, one of the largest Pediatric Heart Failure/Transplant programs in the country, a world-renowned Pulmonary Hypertension center and expertise in electrophysiology and multiple non-invasive cardiac imaging modalities. Our institution is home to a high-volume ELSO Platinum Center of Excellence ECMO program and has extensive experience in the care of all types of pediatric ventricular assist (Berlin Excor, Heartmate 3, Total Artificial Heart and Impella). Our combined pediatric medical/surgical and cardiac intensive care unit is comprised of a total of 41 beds, of which 14 beds are dedicated for pediatric cardiac patients. In addition to our strong cardiac program, our critical care units provide care for patients as part of robust solid organ transplant, oncology/BMT, orthopedics, neurosurgery and general surgery programs and is also a level 1 Trauma Center.
The ideal candidate should be board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesia or in a combination of these specialties. Candidates who are board certified/eligible in cardiology or anesthesiology will have completed 1 year of post-fellowship advanced training in cardiac critical care. Candidates who are board certified in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine who have not completed post-fellowship advanced training in cardiac critical care will be considered based on experience.
- Must have a MD or DO degree and an active NYS Medical License.
- Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine, Pediatric Cardiology, or Pediatric Anesthesia or in a combination of these specialties.

Hiring Salary Range: $260,000-$280,000
