FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The School of Education of Hunter College-CUNY invites applications for an assistant professor tenure track position in the Early Childhood Development and Learning (ECDL) Program, birth through grade 2, starting late August 2025. The college places a high priority on research and teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate (MS; EdD) levels with an expectation that the candidate will also be active in their professional field. Candidates must have a commitment toinquiry and advocacy on issues ofjustice, equity, diversity, and inclusionthat affect learning outcomes, including social-emotional learning, for children and youth.The college is strongly committed to achieving excellence through recruiting diverse candidates in regard to race, ethnicity, gender, disability, sexual orientation, and other historically under-represented groups.
Applicants will be expected to: conduct research and publish scholarly writing in early childhood special education; teach graduate (MA & EdD) courses that span birth through grade 2; supervise students in field placements; develop and maintain relationships with local programs that work in homes, classrooms and communities; advise graduate students; serve on department, school of education, college, and university committees; develop training and/or research grant proposals; and demonstrate leadership in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. or Ed.D with professional preparation and practical experience in early childhood special education; e extensive knowledge of theory and practice in early childhood special education; strong evidence of established or promising research and scholarly activity; university teaching and supervisory experience; competence in a variety of methods and tools for university teaching, including technology; and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (not required for consideration): Practice and expertise in kindergarten through grade 2 special education, most particularly in inclusive settingsand family supportswithin an early childhood education framework.
COMPENSATION

Compensation for this position falls within the following salary range:($75,465-$99,532).
