Overview:

The Executive Associate Program is designed for 2nd year MBA students who seek to accelerate their career within M&T Bank. Program hires will undergo an immersive leadership experience designed to develop leadership competencies and strategic capabilities. Throughout the first year, the incoming cohort will be introduced to Program alumni, bank wide leadership, and collaborate with peers to drive change to support the vision and goals of the Bank.

The wealth management business is broken up into wealth areas across our footprint known as Wealth Markets. These markets are managed by Area Executives who oversee wealth advisors, investment advisors, private bankers, financial planners, and client services officers for that region. These teams work exclusively with high-net-worth individuals with a minimum of $3 million to invest and institutions with a minimum of $20 million to invest.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITES:

As an Executive Associate (EA) within this team, you join the department and receive hands on training in the field of wealth management and support the team as they execute on a national market strategy to move the business forward. This will include a continuous focus on our product offerings, and innovation around the delivery of service and products to our clients. You’ll be introduced to and learn how investment advisors use the investment platform to advise clients and customers on how to invest and manage their wealth. Your responsibilities may include:

• Collaborating with internal partners to effectively further client relationship development, home office initiatives, and thematic campaigns and the implementation of strategic projects

• Supporting teammates around the execution of sales strategies to grow client base. Continuing develop knowledge around the promotion of the full array of financial services distributed to current and new clients.

• Coordinates team communication and activities. Recommend ideas, suggestions, and alternative wealth solutions by utilizing a team of specialists as applicable.

• Joining team responsible for managing pipeline and activities to assure appropriate number of prospect opportunities are in pipeline and moving through sales cycle to meet sales goal. Implement and deliver specific solutions.

• Direct the day-to-day projects, initiatives and activities relating to one or more of the department’s functional groups.

Growth opportunities include developing further into a leadership role within a specific wealth vertical: Family Wealth, Affluent Business Segments, Wealth Strategy, etc.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Perform project/management related assignments in field of expertise within the Executive Associate Program.

Education and Experience Required:

Completed MBA from an accredited business school.

Minimum two years professional, full time work experience.

Demonstrated leadership potential, as evidenced through previous work experience, extracurricular activities, or community involvement

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and critically analyze complex business challenges

Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $100,000 - $171,000. The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation. The range listed above encompasses all geographic locations. The pay rate specific to your location will fall within this range and is available from your recruiter.
