Alvarez & Marsal is seeking candidates graduating with a bachelor's or master's degree for the role of Analyst in our Public Sector Services practice.

Working directly with leadership, PSS helps stabilize financial and operational performance by developing and implementing comprehensive efficiency, operational, and organizational improvements.
Our Public Sector professionals:
- Improve public services, expanding and improving the constituent experience.
- Manage crises, stabilizing and transforming government agencies.
- Support financial management and innovation, enabling agencies to make critical investments.
- Identify and implement operational improvements, modernizing and streamlining operations.
- Guide transformation and innovation initiatives to unlock opportunities for improved constituent services at lower cost.
PSS analysts can expect to be a part of A& M's Advancing and Cultivating Emerging (ACE) Leaders program - the early career destination program for Alvarez & Marsal PSS analysts and consultants. A& M PSS is seeking full-time applicants for a variety of 2025 start dates based in Washington, DC and Seattle, WA.
Qualifications
- Possess excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to deal with ambiguity and willingness to learn
- Minimum 3.2 GPA required, both major and overall
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university. All majors considered with the preference for the degrees/majors listed below.

- Graduation date between December 2024 and June 2025
- Comfortable with travel, up to 80%
- Must be authorized to work in the US without the need for employment-based sponsorship now or in the future. A& M will not sponsor applicants for US work visa status for this role. In addition, as part of our application process applicants will be subject to a pre-employment and reference investigation.
- Prior internship work experience in financial management, government operations, and/or consulting not required, but considered a plus.
Demonstrate a proficient level of experience with a number of the following areas:
- Extract useful information from large sets of unorganized or incomplete data.
- Use Excel and other MS Office programs as the primary tool to perform analysis and present conclusions.
- Able to contextualize tasks within a baseline understanding of macro issues concerning K-12 education, higher education, workforce development, state & local governance, and/or health and human services.
- Able to demonstrate thoughtfulness, objectivity, professionalism, and empathy in all aspects of work.
- Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

The annual base salary is $85, 000. In addition, A& M offers a discretionary bonus program which is based on several factors, including individual and firm performance. Please ask your recruiter for details.
Regular employees working 30 or more hours per week are also entitled to participate in Alvarez & Marsal Holdings' fringe benefits consisting of healthcare plans, flexible spending and savings accounts, life, AD& D, and disability coverages at rates determined from time to time as well as a 401(k) retirement plan. Provided the eligibility requirements are met, employees will also receive a discretionary contribution to their 401(k) from Alvarez & Marsal. Additionally, employees are eligible for paid time off including vacation, personal days, seventy-two (72) hours of sick time (prorated for part time employees), ten federal holidays, one floating holiday, and parental leave.
