Reporting to the Managing Director, Tax Accounting and Reporting, the Senior Manager, Tax Accounting will manage forecasting of the global effective income tax rate and cash tax payments, preparation of quarterly and annual SEC income tax disclosures, and S-OX internal controls documentation for corporate income taxes. In addition, the Senior Manager, Tax Accounting will work extensively with the Company’s external auditors and internally with Accenture’s cross functional finance, controllership and SEC reporting teams. A successful candidate will be a well-rounded tax professional with deep ASC 740 expertise and a full understanding of accounting principles and mechanics gained through experience or exposure to broad ranging tax and accounting topics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage Accenture’s global effective tax rate processes for quarterly and annual tax provision calculations with a rigorous focus on accuracy and timeliness;

  • Monitor emerging issues in tax accounting and reporting, as well as proposed changes in tax laws, and quantify any financial statement impact;

  • Manage the collection, review and submission of all external financial auditor tax information requests;

  • Manage the internal and external deadlines related to quarterly earnings release and financial statement filing;

  • Prepare and review quarterly SEC income tax disclosures and coordinate deliverables with the regulatory team;

  • Partner with internal controls and external financial auditors to track and ensure adequate documentation for internal and external S-OX purposes;

  • Monitor emerging issues in auditing of income tax controls;

  • Conduct training sessions on S-OX compliance requirements and technical tax accounting topics for Tax and Controllership personnel, as needed;

  • Research complex technical tax accounting issues to determine proper treatment in accordance with U.S. GAAP;

  • Serve as a technical resource for the tax accounting team and as sist with the preparation of memoranda documenting analysis and conclusions;

  • Assist with financial modeling and forecasting of various ad hoc scenarios;

  • Focus on continuous process improvement of Accenture’s tax accounting policies and processes and identify opportunities to better leverage technology and automation tools to streamline and optimize data;

  • Drive processes to ensure the integrity of Accenture’s separate country US GAAP forecasting;

  • Partner with global controllership and other tax department members to create visibility and understanding of the drivers in the tax rate;

  • Develop analytical processes for long-term effective communication to senior management on matters impacting the actual and forecasted effective tax rate;

  • Must enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with an ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Should be organized and work in a detailed manner, while fostering a collaborative, team environment.

  • Develop or improve tax processes, policies and procedures to align with and support the scale and complexity of Accenture. Improve processes to drive greater efficiency through automation, leveraging technology;

  • Maintain a high level of technical expertise and current knowledge of US GAAP pertaining to tax accounting;

  • Identify, resolve and document tax positions and create procedures to drive value and efficiencies within the organization;

  • Proactive development of the tax team, technical skills, and tax financial reporting and controls to support a changing business environment;

  • Work cross-functionally to ensure proper tax reporting of significant transactions and events, continuous monitoring and evaluating of tax positions, development and support of financial statement audit process ;

  • Successfully transition tax accounting work to the Tax Operations Centers of Value in Argentina and India.

    The ideal candidate is an accomplished tax professional with unquestionable integrity, a positive reputation, and demonstrated success in previous roles. The Senior Manager – Tax Accounting must have the ability to drive an agenda, lead at a rapid pace, and collaborate well within the company.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 7 years of broad tax experience with public accounting or corporate multinational experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Leadership experience in an international setting

  • Strong knowledge base of accounting, income tax, U.S. GAAP Accounting for Income Taxes (ASC 740) rules and significant experience in creating process efficiencies

  • Successful track record of managing the tax accounting function for a large-scale global corporation

  • Proven experience building and leading tax teams across a variety of tax disciplines

  • Successful coordination and collaboration with team members located in various countries with diverse cultures, time zones, and priorities is required

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university; Chartered Accountant, CPA, and advanced degrees such as MBA, MS in Taxation strongly preferred

  • Experience with OneSource Tax Provision software and SAP also preferred

  • Present and interact effectively at the senior leadership level

  • Excellent analytical skills with great attention to detail. Action-oriented with a decisive style

  • A forward thinker who can identify and capitalize on new trends as a source of further innovation

  • Unquestioned ethics, integrity, intellectual honesty and sound judgment

Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California , Colorado, New York or Washington as set forth below.
