The Meeting & Events Manager leads all aspects of employee and daily operations. Collaborating with teams to monitor benchmarks ensuring high-quality customer service by building strong event programming that aligns with the goals of clients and partners, delivering an outstanding performance from the entire meeting and events staff.
What you will do.
In the role you would lead a team of Hosts who serve as meeting and event specialists ensuring planning, space preparation, service delivery and post-event wrap-up activities are delivered with accuracy and quality.
Making recommendations on budgets and cost management, this individual also coordinates with clients to resolve sophisticated issues and provide a consistently positive experience through regular engagement and improvement of event processes.
Develops a team in one or more offices. Provides direction on employee management (e.g. recruitment of talent, performance management, employee engagement, employee development, etc.)
Serves as primary contact with client for meeting & events forecasts and strategies.
Accountable for SLA's, critical metrics, and benchmarks; reports out on a recurring basis.
Motivates and coaches staff towards attaining performance goals, maintaining high efficiency, and improving customer gratification.
Completes duties as assigned.
What you will need.
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future
4 years of formal supervisory experience required.
Minimum of 4 years in the meetings industry such as planner, travel manager, hotel sales or similar preferred.
Experience working in or with a multi unit environment e.g. hotel, retail, food, etc. across multi-stakeholder, matrixed environments on a global scale to achieve objectives preferred.
Understands the sales process, meeting dynamics, support services, vendors, and industry at large.
Open to flexible schedules.
Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures as well as forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis including the preparation of reports.
Ability to solve time critical problems and handle a variety of options in dire situations. Requires expert level analytical and quantitative skills with validated experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing matrix-based multi-industry sales environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, OneNote, Outlook, etc. Desire to learn new technologies and digital tools; such as Apps, databases, financial management, work order management, social networking, cloud technologies, handheld mobile technologies and applications, and communications.
Ability to work requiring significant walking or through other means of mobility. This includes standing in position for extended periods, reaching, bending, stooping, pushing and/or pulling and frequently lifting up to 50 lbs.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Meeting & Events Manager position is $95,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Meeting & Events Manager position is $105,000 annually. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate’s skills, qualifications,and experience. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance
