Purpose

As a valuable team member in the Internal Control group, employee will contribute to the success of the SBUS control framework by working with the Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Operational Resilience teams to strengthen the U.S. Operational Resilience program. SBUS Operational Resilience is a relatively new program, requiring a motivated self-starter with strong judgment and analytical skills to not only focus on the initial buildout, but also the continued administration of the operational resilience program. This role falls within the Internal Control Operational Risk Pillar and will subsequently require the ability to connect key processes and operational risk frameworks, including but not limited to, new initiatives, business process mapping, operational risk and control self-assessments (RCSA), etc., across all SBUS businesses and CSF. Experience in global markets and strong interest in process automation, including utilization of business intelligence/automation tools, is strongly preferred.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with US. businesses and CSF to facilitate timely Operational Resilience-related deliverables and ensure consistent program development across the enterprise.

  • Assist with the development and preparation of plans to prevent, adapt, respond to, recover, and learn from operational disruptions in collaboration with multiple stakeholders (plan owners/approvers, Third-Party Risk Management [TPRM], Operational Resilience Team, Risk etc.).

  • Review and enhance operational resilience findings and conclusions drawn by the Operational Resilience Team, businesses, and CSF.

  • Own individual portfolio of work and operate independently to aggregate, analyze, and report on operational risk to senior leaders. This includes preparation of operational resilience-related materials for exercises, committees, and working groups.

  • Evaluate enterprise-wide assessments in TPRM, BSA/AML, CRCA, Risk ID, Operational Resilience, to tie critical data points to establish a holistic view of SBUS operational risk.

  • Evolve the operational risk and resilience framework by driving consistency in data point gathering, including New Initiative Assessments, Operational Risk Events, Key Risk Indicators, RCSA, business continuity planning, etc., providing subsequent guidance for remediation if deficiencies identified.

  • Assist with execution of RCSAs in parallel with operational resilience initiatives. This includes the identification, measurement, monitoring, and management of critical IT systems, end-user computing (EUC), data risk and governance, BCM practices, and Technology-specific RCSAs.

  • Manage and perform Quality Assurance review of all operational risk frameworks for both businesses and CSF, especially as they relate to key IT system safeguards and manual workarounds.

  • Partner with local Front Office business line managers and CSF to address Operational risk issues.

  • Tracks operational events (gains, losses, near misses) and conducts analyses of root causes and determines corrective actions, in conjunction with the relevant Internal Control FLSS team or CSF.

  • Support annual internal and external reviews/examinations (e.g., Audit/Risk/Regulators/External Consultants) and help remediate any findings/issues on a timely basis.

  • Review, update, and maintain all related policies and procedures.

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum of four years of relevant experience in financial services industry, preferably in risk management, compliance, operations, or audit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field

  • Strong time management and ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Working knowledge of business process maps and/or Visio preferred

  • Ability to work independently and with senior management

  • Use of and/or interest in business intelligence and/or automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, VBA, etc.) preferred
