As a Clinical Speech Therapist, you will provides clinical services to patients, maintains equipment and materials. In and Out Patient setting treating both pediatrics and adults. This is a PRN position so hours/shifts will very - this position may also travel to our Health Center of Carrollton.

The Speech Therapist position allows for ample opportunities to experience a wide range of patient populations and different patient care activities performed by Physical Therapists.

A caregiver in this position will work PRN - no schedule shift/hours this role is as needed. A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Performs diagnostic speech pathology test procedures and evaluates communication and swallowing function of patients.

  • Interprets and reports test results to facilitate medical diagnosis.

  • Provides counseling and education about communication and the diagnosis to patients and their families.

  • Determines therapeutic plan, including need for therapy, frequency of treatment, focus for intervention, prognosis and duration of therapy.

  • Selects assistive speech devices to improve patient's communication.

  • Performs re-evaluation to determine progress after therapy.

  • Provides observations about hearing and other behavior to help determine need for other services.

  • Maintains records of all services.

  • Communicates results and recommendations for improving communicative function to referral sources and outside agencies such schools and employers.

  • Maintains speech pathology equipment and materials.

  • Assists with planning, budget, service or project development, fee setting, purchase of new equipment or materials.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.

  • Must hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Pathology License (SP) from the State Board of Speech-Language Pathology & Audiology.

  • Must hold (SP) license in current state upon start date.

  • Holds Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Completed nine month Clinical Fellowship Year.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.

  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient to perform tests.
