Description
We are seeking a caring person for this full-time position, teaching daily living and community integration skills to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, in New Paltz, Rosendale, and surrounding communities.
The Community Habilitation Specialist provides support and skills training to individuals in their homes and also in community settings.
Staff will provide 1:1 assistance with everyday living skills (including but not limited to personal hygiene, banking skills, physical fitness, etc), to maintain or to develop the highest level of independence possible for them.
The staff who work for Community Habilitation should be flexible and self-motivated. Time management skills are definitely important in this position which requires a great deal of independence.
Day hours, after-school, early evening and weekend hours are available for Community Habilitation.
HOURS: 35 hours per week/must be flexible, based on needs of families
STARTING SALARY: $ 19.50 to $ 21.45 per hour, with additional shift differentials as applicable
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or GED preferred
Acceptable NYS Driver's License and a reliable vehicle
