Duties: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Research and working closely with the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Assistant Vice President for Graduate & Extended Learning, the Associate for Institutional Research, Enrollment Management Analytics plays a critical role in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and management of the data-related needs of the college. In this role, the Associate applies advanced knowledge and understanding of organizational objectives and goals to research, gather, analyze, and summarize complex and sensitive issues with organization-wide impact in creative and effective ways. The successful candidate will possess a strategic understanding of the integral role of enrollment analytics in supporting new student enrollment, student success and retention, and net tuition revenue. They will be adept at communicating data and fostering a culture of data-informed decision making among a group of varied constituents across campus.
- Supports the regular and ad hoc reporting needs of the Office of Institutional Research, the Division of Enrollment Management, and the Office of Graduated & Extended Learning - Develops and maintains a reporting library for efforts aimed at enrollment forecasting and the assessment of recruitment and retention initiatives - Creates and maintains databases, data sets and protocols to support specific projects and overall efforts of the college’s strategic enrollment management plans; this includes linking databases and datasets; and extraction, management and integration of data from various data sources (e.g., institutional data sources and repositories as well as other secondary sources)- Advises senior leadership with enrollment research for short-term and long-term decision-making; strategic planning; and the support of student success- Track regional and national trends that must inform strategic planning
- Uses the full range of research and predictive modeling tools available to create predictive analyses that inform strategies, at the undergraduate and graduate levels, related to: Recruitment strategy Net tuition revenue Enrollment yield enhancement Financial aid optimization Retention improvement and student success - Creates dashboards, reports, and analyses to present these data for use in real-time decision making
Data Stewardship & Community Education:
- Ensures common data definitions, best practices, and shared reporting principles are observed across the institution by adopting a collaborative, educational approach to working with colleagues in other divisions - Effectively presents and explains data and analyses to constituents across all levels of the institution, making make the data analysis results useful and user friendly through varied reporting means and display types
Qualifications: Required:- An earned Bachelor’s degree - Five years’ experience in data analysis, and communicating research results in appropriate formats- Experience conducting predictive analytics in the service of administrative decision-making- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or MSFT PowerBI- Experience with cleaning and manipulating data to prepare for analysis in software/languages such as SQL, SPSS, SAS, STATA, R, Excel, etc- Strong problem solving and analytical skills- Very strong attention to detail and accuracy- Ability to understand and articulate complex ideas to provide actionable insight
- An earned Master's degree in an area focusing on quantitative skills- Experience working with prospect CRM data (such as Technolutions Slate) - Direct experience in higher education and enrollment management
