This position will be filled as a Financial Analyst II thru Sr Lead depending on qualifications and experience

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

Monitors, maintains and completes the financial forecasting process and is responsible for key financial analysis and reporting. Supports Entergy's Finance leadership by providing forecast assumptions and analysis, as well as highlighting key issues and exposing items that may impact earnings and all key financial metrics. Is involved in process improvement projects and ad hoc reporting, analysis and financial modeling in support of business needs.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with the Manager and Corporate Planning team to forecast earnings and key financial metrics and perform key financial analysis.

  • Works with the Tax Dept to create income and other tax forecasts that reflects current earnings and tax outlooks.

  • Updates the financial model and provides key monthly analyses to explain results versus forecasted expectations as needed and explain the results.

  • Suggests and implements continuous process improvements to benefit greater team.

  • Communicates issues to managers and teammates and internal/external customers in a clear fashion.

  • Communicates with other departments to gather information about Entergy's businesses and transactions.

  • Communicates with subject matter experts across the company to better understand any risk with assumptions and forecast.

  • Identifies and performs necessary updates to models and related systems. Processes documentation ensuring model output accuracy.

  • Responsible for Ad hoc analysis and other tasks as required.

  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum education required of the position

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics or Engineering

  • MBA preferred.

Minimum experience required of the position

  • Analyst II – 2 - 4 years of professional experience.

  • Analyst III - 4 - 6 years of professional experience.

  • Analyst Sr - 6 plus years of professional experience.

  • Analyst Sr Lead - 8 plus years of professional experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision or within a team environment.

  • Ability to analyze problems and create solutions.

  • Basic knowledge of financial theory and valuation.

  • Ability to understand and solve complex financial transactions.

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple time sensitive projects effectively.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position

  • CPA, CFA, PE or similar certificates/licenses is a plus
