Hilton Catering Coordinator -The Roosevelt New Orleans, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana

The iconic Waldorf Astoria property in New Orleans, The Roosevelt , is seeking a Catering Coordinator to join the Catering and Events Team!

This luxury hotel offers an unparalleled combination of Southern hospitality, world-class service and historic surroundings. As the centerpiece of the city, the hotel is located near the French Quarter and within walking distance to the city's most vibrant attractions and entertainment, including Jackson Square, Bourbon Street and the Arts & Warehouse District.

Embodying the rich heritage of Southern hospitality, this historic hotel features 504 rooms, over 60,000 square feet of meeting space, and five (5) food and beverage outlets. This includes 2 restaurants, a café, seasonal rooftop bar, and in-room dining.

In this role, you will be responsible forInputting programs in booking systems, managing VIP guest arrangements, and coordinating site visits.

The ideal candidate will have at leasttwo (1) year Hospitality related experience.

The Catering and Events department is responsible for the management of contracted groups and social event food/beverage and meeting room revenues and experiences, room block management, negotiation of supplier services. Ensuring event planner satisfaction while meeting and or exceeding department and individual revenue goals.

What will I be doing?

As a Catering Coordinator you will be responsible for assisting and supporting several Catering & Event Managers.

Position Summary

• To organize, plan and prioritize your duties by developing plans and goals.

• Timely communication to internal and external clients via telephone, email, written documents or in person.

• Handling phone calls, e-mails and greeting clients for Catering and Events in a professional, courteous manner.

• Creating and communication of documents including but not limited to BEOs, group resumes, post event reports, menus, diagrams/floor plans.

• Working with affiliate groups.

• Assist with clients and deliver on the client’s expectations.

• Demonstrate knowledge of job systems, products, booking systems, and processes.

• Make decisions and solve problems by analysing and evaluating the issues and determine the best solution for the client.

• Ensure high quality service by communicating and assisting others to understand the guest needs.

• Participate in customer site inspections and assist with the sales process as necessary.

• Other duties as necessary based on business needs

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum Education: High School Degree/GED

• Minimum Years of Experience: one (1) year guest contact or customer experience

• Management Experience: None

• Additional Requirements: 0% travel

• Core Competencies including but not limited to:

o Writing-Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.

o Reading Comprehension- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

o Oral Comprehension- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

o Basic Computer Skills- Using basic computer hardware and software (personal computers, word processing software, internet browsers, etc.)

o Customer and Personal Service- Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

o Number facility- The ability to add, subtract, multiply, or divide quickly and correctly.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Administrative Assistance experience
