Robert Half is partnering with a New Orleans based industrial services company in search of a Senior Accounts Payable Specialist. In this role, you will be a key player in the accounting department, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial transactions and obligations. This direct hire opportunity offers a competitive base salary, benefits package, bonus potential and opportunity for upward growth.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage the processing of invoices and payments to company vendors.

• Monitor discount opportunities and resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.

• Handle all aspects of accounts payable, including maintaining accurate records and processing transactions.

• Assist with month-end tasks and prepare financial reports for upper management.

• Review and verify invoices and requisitions for goods and services, ensuring accuracy in general ledger.

• Keep track of all payments and expenditures, including purchase orders, invoices, etc.

• Assist in developing and updating accounts payable processes and procedures.

• Reconcile the payable account on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy.

• Mentor and guide junior accounts payable team members.

• Liaise with internal and external auditors as needed.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable

• Strong knowledge of accounts payable principles, procedures, and standards

• Excellent organizational skills with high attention to detail

• Strong ability to manage and prioritize tasks and projects

• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
