General Scope of Duties

As our IT Asset Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to person for keeping our tech game strong. From managing computer and software purchases to ensuring everything is inventoried and ready to go, you’ll make sure our technology is top-notch. You’ll also handle replacement cycles, set up tech for new employees, and keep meticulous records. Plus, you’ll help us stay green by managing e-waste and keeping our website up to date.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Computer Purchasing/Ordering: Oversee the acquisition of new computers and related hardware.

  • Software Purchasing and Renewal Processing: Handle the procurement and renewal of software licenses.

  • Receive, Tag, and Inventory Equipment: Manage the intake, tagging, and cataloging of new equipment.

  • ●Manage Replacement Cycles: Oversee the scheduled replacement of outdated or obsolete equipment.

  • Initiate and Be Responsible for Deployments of Technology for Employees: Make sure new hires have all the tech they need to hit the ground running.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Retrieval of Technology No Longer in Use: Collect and decommission tech that’s past its prime.

  • Develop a Comprehensive Inventory of Campus Technology Resources: Keep an up-to-date inventory of all our tech goodies.

  • Develop and Maintain Computer Purchase Information on L&IT Website: Keep our tech purchasing info fresh and current on the website.

Tertiary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage E-Waste Process to Meet Environmental and Sustainability Goals: Help us stay eco-friendly by managing electronic waste responsibly.

  • Engage in Professional Development: Attend conferences, online webinars, and connect with peers at other institutions to stay in the loop.

  • Participate in the Life of the College: Join in on campus events like athletic games, gallery openings, art performances, student exhibits, and invited speakers.

  • Other Duties or Responsibilities as Assigned: We might have a few surprises for you, but you’ll be up for the challenge!

    Education and Skills

  • Associate’s degree or coursework in Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.

  • Basic understanding of computer hardware and software.

  • A can-do attitude and willingness to learn inventory management software and asset tracking tools.

  • Interest in learning about e-waste regulations and sustainability practices.

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

  • Eagerness to learn how to coordinate technology deployments for new employees
