Leading plant projects from beginning to end: problem identification, supplier lineup, sourcing, design approval, contractor management, equipment certification, and training of production and maintenance employees on new equipment
Safety:
Actively drive all components of “Take Control of Safety”
Enforce SDI Cardinal Lifesaving rules
Keep safety top of mind
Participate in:
Toolbox Talks (daily safety alerts and discussions)
Exposure assessments
Red tape challenges (removing employees from danger)
Creation, review, & training JSA/SOP’s
Training/development of employees in hazard recognition
Incident investigation and reporting
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Follow SDI safety policies, procedures, efforts, and initiatives
Lead projects to improve safety, quality, and throughput
Plan and oversee the budget, vendor selection, design, construction, installation, and signoff of new equipment
Source and manage contractors to ensure work is performed safely, timely, and completely
Train production and maintenance teams on new equipment
Make PLC and HMI updates as needed
Support/develop plant electrical and PLC team
Troubleshoot day to day equipment problems with maintenance and production teams as needed
Identify causes of equipment downtime and implement corrective actions to prevent it from happening again
Review and set critical spare part quantities for new equipment
Update electrical prints as needed
All other assigned tasks
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent on the job experience
Safety first attitude

Strong communication and organizational skills
Motivated to succeed as a team
Willingness to work in cold/hot conditions
Substantial experience with:
Automated electrical systems (conveyors, robots, etc.)
Electrical engineering codes and safety standards
High voltage equipment (480V)
Troubleshooting complicated equipment
Allen Bradley PLC and VFDs
Ability to read electrical/controls drawings
Preferred:
Experience with:
Metal industry, furnaces, casting, or crane systems
Managing projects, budgets, and contractors
Leading cross functional teams
Equipment/process design
AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office, etc.
Yaskawa robots
Temperature feedback systems
Coaching/developing team members
