Seiberlich Trane Energy Services Energy Engineer in New Castle, Delaware

This career opportunity is responsible for performing energy engineering and measurement and verification (M&V) calculation and analytics for Energy Services projects. Provide technical consultation on building system operation in support of project development, fulfillment, and M&V.

The salary range is $60k to $80k in addition to robust benefits package and profit sharing program,

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Develop data collection and system analysis requirements for M&V of energy projects.

  • Support the Project Development team with energy engineering calculations and ECM-specific M&V methodologies.

  • Gather utility bills and analyze utility consumption and cost trends.

  • Develop energy consumption baselines in energy/utility software or Excel.

  • Perform pre-installation and post-retrofit data collection and analysis to ensure contractual energy savings targets are achieved.

  • Identify and help remedy energy performance issues utilizing both internal and external technical resources.

  • Provide technical support for continued energy performance following project fulfillment.

  • Prepare internal reports detailing energy savings results during performance contract or project construction, ECM completion, commissioning, and in preparation for M&V.

  • Compile and present performance reports to external customers, including quarterly and annual energy savings reports.

  • Continuous improvement of existing reporting capabilities from a software standpoint and a usability perspective.

  • Participate in transition meetings with Energy Services Operations Team to ensure energy savings strategies are clearly communicated and the performance period documentation requirements are understood.

  • Conduct interim reviews during project construction to assess the energy impact of any changes to the original contract scope of work.

  • Calculate and remodel project energy baselines or targets based upon adjustments to operating parameters such as schedules, building use, occupancy conditions, etc.

  • Review M&V plans developed by others for compliant methodologies.

  • Develop, document, and implement M&V plans for energy projects, and the associated Energy Conservation Measures (ECM's).

  • Review Building Automation Systems (BAS) graphics and trends for operation of units to schedules and setpoints.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Associate’s degree in Energy Management with equivalent experience.

  • Working knowledge and experience with HVAC, building controls, and MEP systems preferable.

  • Proficiency, or ability to gain proficiency, with energy analysis tools such as Abraxis Metrix, Skyspark, complex spreadsheet calculations, and TRACE.

  • Working knowledge of cost and savings studies incorporating energy conservations measures.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
